India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall today in parts of Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Places over Chhattisgarh and Gangetic West Bengal are expected to experience thundersquall today.

According to the Met Department, thunderstorms and lightning are likely in parts of north-east India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 2-3 days. IMD also predicted heat wave conditions today over Gujarat and West Rajasthan.

Konkan and Goa will experience hot and humid weather during the day. According to the weather agency, warm night conditions are likely to persist in places over West Rajasthan during the next 7 days.
