The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast severe heatwave conditions today at places over Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Hot and Humid weather conditions are expected to persist during the day over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Rajasthan, Vidarbha and West Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience hot night conditions tonight.

 

The weather agency also forecast heavy rainfall over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Thunderstorms and lightning are likely today over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir and some parts of north-east India.
