Holy relics of Lord Buddha set to be taken to Ladakh

Tathagata holy sacred relics of Lord Buddha are set to travel to the Union Territory of Ladakh. This marks the first time these holy remains will leave its permanent place for an exhibition within the country. The announcement was made during a press conference in New Delhi attended by the Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinay Kumar Saxena. The exhibition is scheduled to last for 15 days, starting on the first of next month. The relics will be transported through a special aircraft with Z-category security to ensure their safety.

Addressing the press conference, Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that this exposition will not just serve as a display but as a celebration of country’s soul and civilisation. He said that the event is expected to draw a massive crowd, including heads of state, monks and devotees from across the globe.
