BJP MP Hema Malini has said it is an important day for women across the country, as the Women’s Reservation Bill is a step towards recognizing their ability and honouring them.
Talking to media outside Parliament House, the BJP MP further called on the Opposition to support the Bill. She added that no other Prime Minister has done as much for women as Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, Congress MP from Tamil Nadu, Jothimani Sennimalai, claimed that BJP is using the bill as a shield to conduct 2011 census-based delimitation. She alleged that the Delimitation Bill is against South India and it will destroy the unity and political integrity of this country.
