Online LPG cylinder booking increases to 99% and OTP based deliveries to over 94.5% across the country

The Government has taken several measures to ensure the uninterrupted supply of petroleum products and LPG across the country. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has stated that LPG supply to domestic households has been prioritised. It added that there have been no reports of dry-outs at any distributorship.

The Ministry said that online LPG cylinder bookings have reached about 99 percent nationwide, while OTP-based deliveries have crossed 94.5 percent. Since last month, over five lakh 36 thousand PNG connections have been activated, and infrastructure has been created for an additional two lakh 61 thousand connections, taking the total to nearly seven lakh 97 thousand. Around six lakh consumers have also registered for new PNG connections. More than 42 thousand PNG consumers have surrendered their LPG connections till yesterday. All refineries in the country are operating at high capacity with adequate crude inventories, and sufficient stocks of petrol and diesel are being maintained.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has said that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe, with no incidents involving Indian-flagged vessels reported in the past 24 hours.

Additionally, Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring the situation in the Gulf and West Asia region, focusing on the safety and welfare of the Indian community. Since the 28th of February, around 12 lakh 65 thousand passengers have travelled from the region. The Ministry said that Iran’s airspace is partially open for cargo and chartered flights. It added that so far, the Embassy in Tehran has facilitated the evacuation of two thousand 443 Indian nationals through these routes. However, Indian nationals have been advised to avoid travel to Iran, and those already there are being urged to leave through land border routes with support from the Indian Embassy.
