Goa government assures supplies of petrol, diesel, and LPG remain stable & adequate to meet current demand

In Goa, the state government has assured that supplies of Petrol, diesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas remain stable and adequate to meet current demand. Addressing a press conference today, Secretary of Civil Supplies Sanjeev Gadkar said there is no need for panic buying despite recent global geopolitical developments. He said daily LPG bookings, which had crossed 13,000 in March, have now stabilised at around 8,900 in April. District authorities have conducted over 430 enforcement raids in coordination with Oil Marketing Companies to prevent hoarding and black marketing.

The government is also taking steps to support vulnerable groups in the state. Around 11,000 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders have been issued this month to migrant workers and students without local address proof. Gadkar added that over 90% of consumers are now using digital booking systems and Delivery Authentication Codes, improving transparency. While LPG supply remains normal, residents in urban areas such as Panjim and Margao are being encouraged to adopt Piped Natural Gas as a reliable long-term alternative.
