Union Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya today said that the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has intensified the efforts to reduce litigation and ensure the timely resolution of pending cases across various legal forums. Addressing the media in New Delhi, Dr Mandaviya said that under the Nidhi Aapke Nikat Programme, cases were identified in advance and taken up for expedited resolution. As a result, the number of pending consumer cases declined from nearly five thousand as on 1st April 2024 to over two thousand six hundred as on 31st March of this year. He noted that the overall pendency of litigation cases has been reduced from over 31 thousand to 27 thousand, marking the lowest level of litigation pendency in EPFO. Dr Mandaviya mentioned that the Ministry of Labour and Employment has launched the revamped Shram Suvidha 2.0 and Samadhan 2.0 portals, aimed at strengthening labour law compliance and grievance redressal mechanism while promoting ease of doing business.
The Minister informed that the EPFO is planning to use Whatsapp platform with the objective of enhancing outreach and streamlining member services. The Minister highlighted that this initiative will focus on key areas such as members eligible under Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgaar Yojana who have pending cases related to non completion of Aadhar Authentication or non- enablement of Direct Bank Transfer for their Aadhar linked bank account, will receive targeted support for resolution on Whatsapp itself.
