The Election Commission has reiterated that all stakeholders should ensure responsible and ethical use of social media and digital platforms during the ongoing elections.
In a statement, the poll body directed that any misleading or unlawful AI-generated or manipulated content shall be acted upon within three hours of being brought to notice of the social media platforms.
It said that political parties, candidates and campaign representatives must ensure that any synthetically generated or AI-altered content used for campaigning are clearly labelled as AI-Generated, Digitally Enhanced or Synthetic Content. It must also disclose the originating entity. The Commission added that over eleven thousand such social media posts or URLs have been identified and acted upon since the announcement of elections.
