Eight pilgrims killed in road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool

In Andhra Pradesh, eight pilgrims, including five women, one child and two men, were killed and several others injured in a tragic road accident near Chilakaladone village in Kurnool district early this morning.
 
According to police, a Bolero vehicle carrying devotees collided with a ready-mix tanker while the group was on its way to Mantralayam for the darshan of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
 
Rescue teams rushed to the spot and carried out relief operations. The injured were shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were transported to the Government Hospital in Adoni. Preliminary information indicates that the victims were residents of Udayi village in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka.
 
State Home Minister V. Anitha has expressed deep grief over the incident. She described the accident as unfortunate and directed officials to ensure immediate and better medical care for the injured. The Minister also conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Further details are awaited.
