District Magistrate Romil Singh Donk Extends Closure of Schools, Colleges, Anganwadis in Leh

Situation in Leh district of Ladakh Union Territory remained peaceful, which is under restrictions since Wednesday, following a violent clash between security personnel and protesting youth. There is no reports of untoward incidents of violence in the district , while all the educational institutions and business establishments across the district remained shut.

 

People remained indoors and roads and highways wore deserted looks as there was minimal traffic seen on roads. One of the injured protesters, who needs advanced treatment, has been airlifted to New Delhi for treatment at AIIMS, Delhi, and the remaining injured casualties are undergoing treatment at the district hospital, SNM hospital in Leh city.

 

District Magistrate, Leh Romil Singh Donk, continuing the restriction, has further extended the closure of all educational institutions, including colleges, ICDS Anganwadi and Coaching Centre for two days from Today.
