Dept of Posts & PM’s Museum sign MoU to present India’s democratic and national journey

 
The Department of Posts and the Prime Minister’s Museum and Library have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration in preserving and presenting the country’s democratic and national journey. The MoU was signed on the occasion of the museum’s foundation day at Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya today. 
On this occasion, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also inaugurated a philatelic exhibition titled Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat: Celebrating India’s Unity and Democracy through Postage Stamps in New Delhi. The three day exhibition is organised by the Department of Posts, in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Museum and Library, will continue till Friday. The exhibition presents a curated collection of postage stamps reflecting country’s cultural heritage, and historical legacy with thematic highlights on the Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Freedom Fighters.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Scindia said that a special postcard has been released on the Constitution, Dr BR Ambedkar, and the foundation day of the Prime Ministers Museum. He added that the Department of Posts will establish a permanent outlet at the museum as part of the agreement. The Minister said the Department of Posts and the museum will also work together on exhibitions, presentations, and philately-related activities across the country. Highlighting the contribution of India Posts in the country’s journey, Mr Scindia said it has played an important role in the nation’s democratic journey for more than 75 years and will continue contributing in the years to come. Mr. Scindia added that the initiative reflected a strong commitment to the Constitution, to Babasaheb Ambedkar and to the vision of a self-reliant, strong and developed India.
