Defence Minister Rajnath Singh calls on Vietnam’s President To Lam

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called on President of Vietnam Tô Lâm and reaffirmed India’s commitment to further deepen defence cooperation between the two countries. In a social media post, the Defence Minister said that the cooperation is a key pillar of the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. Mr Singh said that India and Vietnam share a strong bond rooted in mutual trust, shared values and close cooperation in defence, security and regional stability.
 
The Minister also held a bilateral meeting with Vietnamese Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang in Hanoi. Both sides reviewed the growing India-Vietnam defence partnership and discussed ways to further deepen cooperation in maritime security, the defence industry, training and regional stability. The two leaders jointly inaugurated the Language Lab established at the Air Force Officers College, Vietnam. A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of AI and quantum technology was exchanged, marking another significant step in the India-Vietnam Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
 
Earlier, Mr Singh paid homage to the founding father of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh, at his Mausoleum on the occasion of his 136th birth anniversary. The Minister said that Ho Chi Minh’s vision, leadership and unwavering commitment to national liberation and global solidarity continue to inspire generations. He added, India-Vietnam friendship remains anchored in shared values, mutual respect and enduring cooperation.
