In Türkiye, the death toll from a school shooting in the southern city of Kahramanmaraş has risen to nine. Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci has confirmed that at least 13 others were injured when a 14-year-old student opened fire in two classrooms at a middle school yesterday. Six of the injured are in serious condition. 

 

The gunman was also killed. Authorities said the motive for the attack is not yet known.  The Chief Public Prosecutor said an investigation has been launched. This is the country’s second school shooting in two days.
