The Enforcement Task Force of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has held a meeting to review recent measures taken to control air pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR). During a 15-day period from the 27th of last month to the 10th of this month, officials conducted 162 inspections across various sectors and detected 64 violations.
These included 25 inspections at construction and demolition sites, 28 in industrial areas, and 109 related to diesel generator sets. The Task Force stressed the need for stricter action in key areas such as diesel generators, construction activities, industrial emissions, and road dust control. It also called for improved coordination among agencies and quicker follow-up action.
