Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) K. Sanjay Murthy today said that both the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and the CAG will play an instrumental role in ensuring that India’s growth remains competitive, innovative and inclusive. Mr Murthy was speaking at the 17th Annual Day commemoration of the CCI in New Delhi. He said that in the digital age, the role of the CCI will evolve from a narrow anti-monopoly mechanism to one of foundational economic governance.
Highlighting the role of the CAG, Mr Murthy said its responsibilities have shifted from mere bookkeeping to providing deep insights into the efficiency and effectiveness of national programmes that impact millions of lives.
