Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated India’s firm stand on terrorism, asserting that there can be no double standards and compromise on the issue. Mr Modi made the remarks in a joint press meeting after wide-ranging talks with his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur today.

Mr Modi highlighted that India and Malaysia will expand cooperation in counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, maritime security, and defence.

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि समुद्री पड़ोसी होने के नाते भारत और मलेशिया के बीच एक विशेष संबंध है। उन्होंने मजबूत जन-संबंधों और मलेशिया में प्रवासी भारतीयों की उपस्थिति का उल्‍लेख किया। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि इंडो-पैसिफिक क्षेत्र विकास के एक प्रमुख केंद्र के रूप में उभर रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि दोनों देश आसियान के साथ मिलकर पूरे क्षेत्र में विकास, शांति और स्थिरता के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं।

वार्ता के दौरान दोनों पक्षों ने कई समझौतों और दस्‍तावेजों का आदान-प्रदान किया। इनमें आपदा प्रबंधन, ऑडियोविजुअल सह-निर्माण, भ्रष्टाचार निवारण और रोकथाम, सेमीकंडक्टर विकास, स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य और औषधि, छात्रवृत्ति के संस्‍थान तथा एनपीसीआई इंटरनेशलन पेमेंट्स लिमिटेड और पेनेट ऑफ मलेशिया के बीच के समझौता ज्ञापन शामिल हैं।

Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi interacted with CEOs and business leaders to further boost trade, investment, and economic linkages between the two countries. Phison Electronics Corporation’s Founder and CEO Pua Khein Seng also took part in the meeting. Our correspondent covering the Prime Minister’s visit has filed this report:

“Summarising the official visit of the PM Secretary (East) P. Kumaran said semiconductors remain a key area of cooperation. He said that the Malaysia-India Digital Council has been formed to advance engagement in the semiconductor ecosystem as well as digital public infrastructure, e-governance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, fintech, and payment linkages.

P. Kumaran said India’s design strengths and Malaysia’s long experience in manufacturing, assembly, testing, and packaging can complement each other. Mr Kumaran also said counter-terrorism cooperation between the two countries covers transnational crimes, including human trafficking and violent extremism, and is being addressed through an ongoing national security dialogue mechanism. Prime Minister Modi, also met Persons of Indian Origin and veterans of the Indian National Army. DURGESH BHADAURIA FOR AKASHVANI NEWS, Kuala Lumpur.”

The Prime Minister reached Malaysia yesterday on a two-day visit. Mr Modi has since left for Delhi after concluding his visit.

THE INDIA-AI IMPACT SUMMIT 2026 (2nd DATELINE)
The India AI Impact Summit, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from 16 th to 20 February is anticipated to be the largest of the four global AI summits hosted to date, reflecting the growing international momentum around responsible, inclusive and impact-driven Artificial Intelligence. The Summit will prioritise the translation of vision into execution, with a clear focus on outcomes that matter on the ground.
It will be the first global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South.Over 100 countries are engaging through the Seven Chakra or Working Groups, reflecting broad global participation in shaping responsible and inclusive AI. The Summit is also anchored in three Sutras: People, Planet and Progress which define the core principles for global cooperation on AI.

The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is guided by three foundational pillars, referred to as Sutras, which articulate the core principles, guiding global cooperation on AI.

The first pillar is People :  Promoting human-centric AI that safeguards rights, enhances access to services, builds trust, and ensures equitable benefits across societies.

The second one is Planet : Advancing environmentally sustainable AI by encouraging energy-efficient systems, responsible resource use, and applications that support climate action and environmental resilience.

And the third sutra is Progress : Enabling inclusive economic and technological advancement through innovation, capacity building, and the use of AI to drive productivity, growth, and development outcomes.

परम वीर सागर यात्रा अभियान के तहत अंडमान निकोबार द्वीप समूह के एन सी सी कैडेट भारतीय नौसेना के जहाज पर सवार होकर परम वीर चक्र विजेताओं के नाम पर नामित 21 निर्जन द्वीपों की यात्रा की। यात्रा के दौरान कैडटों ने इन द्वीपों की मिट्टी एकत्र कर ‘परम वीर माटी कलश’ प्रधानमंत्री को भेंट की। एक रिपोर्ट –

देश के सर्वोच्च नागरी सम्मान, पद्म पुरस्कारों की घोषणा हाल ही में हुई। उनमें, पद्मश्री पुरस्कार की सूचि में एक नाम है, महाराष्ट्र की अनूठी पहचान कहलानेवाली तमाशा लोककला के जानेमाने कलाकार रघुवीर खेडकर का। तमाशा क्षेत्र का यह पहला पद्म पुरस्कार है। जानते है इस लोककला और इस दिग्गज लोककलाकार रघुवीर खेडकर के बारे में, हमारी मुंबई संवाददाता से…

रघुवीर खेडकर को तमाशा की समृद्ध विरासत अपने परिवार से ही मिली। तमाशा कला के जाने-माने कलाकार जोड़े, तुकाराम खेडकर और कांताबाई खेडकर के घर ६ अगस्त १९६१ को रघुवीर खेडकर का जन्म हुआ। अपने पिता से तुलना न हो, इसलिए उन्होंने अपने लिए तमाशा की दुनिया का बड़ा ही अनूठा पात्र चुना— सोंगाड्या। १९७० से वे इसी भूमिका को निभा भी रहे हैं और जी भी रहे हैं। अपनी माँ कांताबाई से तमाशा मंडली की जिम्मेदारी अपने हाथों में लेकर उन्होंने इस लोककला को एक नया रूप दिया। ११ हजार से भी ज्यादा बार रंगमंच पर खड़े होकर अपनी कला पेश करने का रिकॉर्ड उनके नाम पर है। अपनी इस जीवनगाथा के बारे में रघुवीर खेडकर ने कहा,

सोंगाड्या के साथ ही, रघुवीर खेडकर कुशल गायक, नर्तक, अभिनेता और समाजप्रबोधक भी हैं। तमाशा का सीजन न होने पर वे गांव-गांव जाकर प्रवचन के कार्यक्रम करते हैं। समाजप्रबोधन के प्रभावी साधन के रूप में तमाशा का महत्त्व समझकर उन्होंने तमाशा के मंच से व्यसनों से मुक्ति, स्वच्छता, पारिवारिक विवाद और महापुरुषों की गाथाओं जैसे विषयों पर वगनाट्य प्रस्तुत किए। आज तक उन्होंने विविध विषयों पर ५० से ज्यादा वगनाट्यों की ९ हजार प्रस्तुतियाँ की हैं। ऐसे दिग्गज कलाकार को पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया जाना महाराष्ट्र की इस लोककला के लिए एक बड़ी ही अहम बात है। परिक्रमा के लिए, मुंबई से, मैं अंकिता आपटे।

 we are remembering
Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi known by his pen name Ghanshyam Vyas, was an Indian independence movement activist, politician, writer from Gujarat state. A lawyer by profession, he later turned to author and politician. He is a well-known name in Gujarati literature. He founded Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, an educational trust, in 1938.
Munshi wrote his works in three languages namely Gujarati, English and Hindi.

आज हम याद कर रहे हैं हिन्दी और गुजराती साहित्य को नई दिशा देने वाले महान लेखक कन्हैयालाल माणिकलाल मुंशी को, आज उनकी पुण्यतिथि है। वे एक प्रसिद्ध लेखक होने के साथ-साथ शिक्षाविद और विचारक भी थे। भारतीय संस्कृति, इतिहास और राष्ट्रवाद उनके लेखन के मुख्य विषय रहे। उन्होंने साहित्य के माध्यम से भारतीय मूल्यों और परंपराओं को सामने रखा। शिक्षा और साहित्य के क्षेत्र में उनका योगदान आज भी प्रेरणादायक माना जाता है।

भारत की आज़ादी के संघर्ष में साहस और समर्पण की मिसाल रहीं कल्पना दत्त की आज पुण्यतिथि है। वे उन चुनिंदा महिला क्रांतिकारियों में शामिल थीं, जिन्होंने कम उम्र में ही स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में भाग लिया। क्रांतिकारी गतिविधियों के कारण उन्हें जेल भी जाना पड़ा। आजादी के बाद भी वे सामाजिक और राष्ट्रीय मुद्दों से जुड़ी रहीं। भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में उनका योगदान साहस और देशभक्ति का प्रतीक है।

1) Jagjit Singh, born on 8 February 1941 in Rajasthan, had a deep passion for music from a young age. He moved to Bombay in 1965. He started his journey singing advertising jingles and struggled to make a living. the voice that taught ghazals to breathe in the language of the heart, where every word lingered like a timeless prayer.
2) Few songwriters have been able to enjoy hits across six decades, as well as the bonus of a dramatic revival of interest in their work during the later years of their careers. Burt Bacharach, who has died aged 94, could claim both.
With his writing partner Hal David, Bacharach launched himself into the front rank of pop songwriters with a brilliant streak of hits for Dionne Warwick during the 1960s, beginning in 1962 with Don’t Make Me Over and proceeding through (among others) Walk on By, Anyone Who Had a Heart, I Say a Little Prayer, Trains and Boats and Planes, and Do You Know the Way to San Jose. All became standards in Bacharach’s chosen pop-easy-listening genre, their apparent simplicity concealing his mastery of different rhythms and metres.

सरल सुर, गहरे एहसास और शब्दों की सच्चाई – जगजीत सिंह की ग़ज़लों की यही खूबसूरती थी।
आज हम याद कर रहे हैं ग़ज़ल को महफ़िलों से निकालकर आम श्रोताओं तक पहुँचाने वाले कलाकार जगजीत सिंह जी को। 8 फ़रवरी 1941 (इकतालीस) को जन्मे जगजीत सिंह ने ग़ज़ल को आसान शब्दों और सधे हुए संगीत के साथ पेश किया। उनकी गायकी में बनावट नहीं, बल्कि सच्चे एहसास और गहराई होती थी। उन्होंने पारंपरिक ग़ज़ल को आधुनिक संगीत से जोड़ा, जिससे नई पीढ़ी भी इससे जुड़ सकी। जगजीत सिंह को हम ग़ज़लों से जोड़ते हैं, लेकिन भजन और दूसरे गीतों में भी उनकी आवाज़ उतनी ही असरदार रही। आगे बढ़ने से पहले आपको सुनाते हैं जगजीत सिंह का एक और प्रसिद्ध गीत।

1925 – शोभा गुर्टू (Shobha Gurtu)
आज हम याद कर रहे हैं भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत में ठुमरी को एक विशेष पहचान दिलाने वाली गायिका शोभा गुर्टू को। 8 फ़रवरी 1925 को जन्मीं शोभा गुर्टू ने ठुमरी गायन को सिर्फ़ एक शैली नहीं, बल्कि एहसास बना दिया। उनकी आवाज़ में बनारस की मिट्टी की खुशबू, विरह का दर्द और प्रेम की कोमलता साफ़ झलकती थी। वे ठुमरी के साथ-साथ दादरा और भजनों की भी सिद्ध गायिका थीं। उनकी गायकी में भावनाओं की सादगी थी, जो सीधे श्रोता के दिल तक पहुँचती थी। अब आइए, शब्दों से आगे बढ़ते हुए, सुरों की उस दुनिया में चलते हैं – जहाँ भावनाएँ आवाज़ बन जाती हैं। सुनते हैं, ठुमरी की महान गायिका शोभा गुर्टू की मधुर आवाज़ में एक खूबसूरत रचना…

1897 – डॉ. ज़ाकिर हुसैन
देश के लोकतांत्रिक इतिहास में शिक्षा और मूल्यों की मजबूत नींव रखने वाले डॉ. ज़ाकिर हुसैन का जन्म 8 फ़रवरी 1897 (सत्तानबे) को हुआ था। वे भारत के तृतीय राष्ट्रपति थे। डॉ. ज़ाकिर हुसैन शिक्षा को समाज परिवर्तन का सबसे बड़ा माध्यम मानते थे। उन्होंने जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया को मज़बूत पहचान दिलाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई। उनका जीवन सादगी, ईमानदारी और राष्ट्रीय एकता का प्रतीक माना जाता है।

1951 – अशोक चक्रधर
हास्य, व्यंग्य और साहित्य को मंच से जोड़ने वाले प्रसिद्ध कवि अशोक चक्रधर का आज जन्मदिन है। वे हिन्दी के मंचीय कवियों में एक जाना-पहचाना नाम हैं। उनकी रचनाएँ समाज की सच्चाइयों को हँसी के माध्यम से सामने लाती हैं। वे कवि होने के साथ-साथ लेखक और शिक्षाविद भी रहे हैं। हिन्दी साहित्य को लोकप्रिय बनाने में उनका बड़ा योगदान माना जाता है।
