In Uttar Pradesh, star campaigners of different political parties will campaign for the sixth and seventh phase of elections.

 

Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader Narendra Modi will address political rallies in Basti and Shravasti constituencies. BJP leader and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath will campaign in Jaunpur, Basti, Sultanpur, Siddharth Nagar and Balrampur districts, while BJP leader and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav will campaign in Maharajganj, Kushinagar and Jaunpur.

 

Bahujan Samaj Party Chief, Mayawati will campaign in Sultanpur, while Samajwadi Party Chief, Akhilesh Yadav will address a rally in Azamgarh district.

 

Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader Narendra Modi yesterday said that I.N.D.I. Alliance is anti-women and they oppose reservation for the women. Addressing a women only gathering in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, the PM said that women were not safe during the regime of Samajwadi Party and Congress but now under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership in UP, women are more safe and secure. He will address two more rallies in Uttar Pradesh today.

 

On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge addressed a Press Conference in Chandigarh yesterday. He said, Haryana and Punjab are considered quite prosperous, but still unemployment and inflation is at its peak in these states. Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav also addressed a political rally in Bhadohi in support of TMC candidate Lalitesh Pati Tripathi yesterday. He said that BJP is not going to win even 140 seats in the country.

Expressing displeasure at the Delhi High Court’s rejection of the bail plea of Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, she alleged that the BJP government is using the Central investigating agencies to hatch a political conspiracy. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has said that Integrated Theatre Commands will lay the foundation for catapulting the armed forces into the next orbit of military preparedness and war fighting. Addressing a function on Jointmanship: The Way Ahead in New Delhi yesterday, General Chauhan termed Jointness and Integration as pre-requisites to the creation of functional Integrated Theatre Commands. He said, the creation of such commands will allow greater focus of the operational commander to matters of security. The CDS said the Theatre Commands will not be an end state but the beginning of the next set of reforms.

विश्व आर्थिक मंच-डब्ल्यूईएफ के यात्रा एवं पर्यटन विकास सूचकांक 2024 में 119 देशों में भारत 39वें स्थान पर पहुंच गया है, जबकि अमेरिका इस सूची में शीर्ष पर है। दक्षिण एशिया की निम्न-मध्यम-आय वाली अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में भारत सर्वोच्च स्थान पर है। इससे पहले 2021 में प्रकाशित सूचकांक में भारत 54वें स्थान पर था।

 

7 के समग्र सूचकांक अंक पर, जहां 1 सबसे खराब है, और 7 सबसे अच्छा है, भारत ने चार दशमलव दो पांच अंक हासिल किये है।

The IIT –Madras has established a new interdisciplinary centre – Centre of Excellence for atomistic modelling and materials design to study fundamental properties of matter like electrons and ions to develop new materials for various applications including efficient energy storage, new polymers for sustainable environment and new materials for quantum technology. The Centre will employ computational techniques, artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms and advanced theoretical methods to predict properties of materials.

Dengue cases in Bengaluru have jumped by 59% as against the previous year for a period between January to May. The Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has attributed the surge to enhanced reporting of the cases. 

 

According to the data shared by the BBMP, this year till May 15, the city has recorded 932 cases, while the number of cases from January to May in 2023 was 583. However, the cases are less compared to 2020.

 

Experts say that the BBMP’s lack of preparedness and wrong approach towards handling vector-borne disease are the key reasons for the increase in cases.

Telangana police have recovered as many as 30,049 mobile devices ever since the Central Equipment Identity Register portal was launched in April last year. This is the second highest in the country. The CEIR portal was developed by the Department of Telecommunications to curb the menace of mobile theft and counterfeit mobile devices and was started on a pilot basis in Telangana State in April last year. In Telangana, the portal is operated in all 780 police stations of Police Units of the state. Due to efforts made by the then ADG CID Mahesh Bhagwat and current ADG, CID Shikha Goel, over 30 thousand lost or stolen mobile devices were recovered during the last year. Of them, the last thousand were recovered in nine days and handed over to complaints. An official release stated that on average, 76 mobiles are recovered per day in the State. The maximum recoveries have been made by Hyderabad Commissionerate, followed by Cyberabad Commissionerate, Rachakonda Commissionerate and Warangal Commissionerate.

दिल्ली पुलिस में एक हजार 266 नए कांस्‍टेबल शामिल हुए हैं। दिल्ली के वजीराबाद में इन कांस्‍टेबलों के नये बैच के लिए पासिंग आउट परेड का आयोजन किया गया। दिल्‍ली प‍ुलिस के विशेष पुलिस आयुक्‍त एस.के. गौतम ने इस पासिंग आउट परेड की सलामी ली। उन्‍होंने सभी नवनियुक्‍त कांस्‍टेबलों को बधाई देते हुए उन्‍हें समर्पण और निष्‍ठा के साथ काम करने के लिए प्रोत्‍साहित किया। दिल्‍ली पुलिस की ओर से जारी विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार इन सभी कांस्‍टेबल को नये आपराधिक कानूनों, सडक सुरक्षा, यातायात नियम के साथ-साथ अन्‍य कौशलों में भी प्रशिक्षित किया गया है। इनके प्रशिक्षण में शारीरिक फिटनेस एक महत्तवपूर्ण पहलू था।

राजधानी में नेशनल बुक ट्रस्ट-एनबीटी के द्वारा बच्चों के लिए समर कैंप का आयोजन किया गया है। यह कैंप तीन जून तक चलेगा। एनबीटी की ओर से जारी विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार वसंत कुंज में चल रहे इस समर कैंप में भाग लेने के लिए एक हजार से अधिक ऑनलाइन आवेदन प्राप्त हुए हैं। 15 दिनों तक चलने वाले इस समर कैंप में बच्चों के लिए 100 से अधिक रचनात्मक कार्यक्रम और गतिविधियाँ आयोजित की जाएंगी। इनमें पाँच से चौदह वर्ष तक के बच्चों के लिए कहानी-वाचन, पेपरक्राफ्ट, कठपुतली का खेल, पत्र-लेखन, थियेटर, खिलौने बनाना, योग और खेल-खेल में विज्ञान शामिल है। इसके अलावा 9 से 14 वर्ष के बच्चों को करियर काउंसलिंग की सुविधा मिलेगी और उन्हें साइबर सिक्योरिटी के प्रति भी जागरूक भी किया जाएगा।

राजधानी में दो लोगों ने अंगदान कर आठ लोगों को नई जिंदगी दी। इसके अलावा चार लोगों को नई रोशनी मिली। इनमें एक मरीज 22 साल का और दूसरा 27 साल का था, जिसने अपना अंगदान किया। जयप्रकाश नारायण एपेक्‍स ट्रॉमा सेंटर के अनुसार पहली बार दो लोगों के एक साथ अंग निकाले गए, जिसमें एम्‍स और अन्‍य अस्‍पतालों के डॉक्‍टर शामिल थे। एम्‍स में भर्ती मरीजों को एक हृदय, एक लीवर, तीन किडनी और चार कोर्निया प्राप्‍त हुए। इसके अलावा भारतीय यकृत एवं पित विज्ञान संस्‍थान में भर्ती मरीजों को एक लीवर और एक किडनी प्राप्‍त हुआ।

दिल्‍ली पुलिस ने करोडों रुपये की धोखाधडी में शामिल नौ लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस के अनुसार ये आरोपी फर्जी कंपनी के माध्‍यम से स्‍टॉक मार्केट में निवेश करने के लिए लोगों से पैसे लेते थे। इन्‍होंने कंपनियों में निवेश करने के लिए करीब ढाई करोड रुपये लोगों से लिए थे। पुलिस ने आरोपियों के पास से ढाई सौ सिम कार्ड, 84 मोबाइल फोन और 28 एटीएम कार्ड बरामद किए हैं।

नई दिल्‍ली के अखिल भारतीय आयुर्वेद संस्‍थान ने अन्‍तर्राष्‍ट्रीय योग दिवस कार्यक्रमों के अन्‍तर्गत योग अभ्‍यास कार्यक्रम शुरू किया है। यह तीस दिन तक चलेगा। संस्‍थान की महानिदेशक तनुजा नेसारी ने कहा है कि आयुर्वेद और योग आपस में जुडे हुए हैं। उन्‍होंने सभी से योग के सिद्धान्‍तों को अपनाकर संतुलित जीवन जीने की अपील की। इस अवसर पर अध्‍यात्मिक गुरू ब्रह्माकुमारी शिवानी ने कहा कि योग शरीर, मन और आत्‍मा को शुद्ध करता है। उन्‍होंने शीघ्र उपचार में सकारात्मक ऊर्जा की भूमिका पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डाला। इस वर्ष अन्‍तर्राष्‍ट्रीय योग दिवस का विषय है – महिला सशक्तिकरण के लिए योग।

 

दिल्‍ली बिजली मांग

 

राष्‍ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्‍ली में अब तक की सबसे अधिक बिजली की मांग रही। राज्‍य विद्युत वितरण केन्‍द्र के अनुसार कल दोपहर शहर में 7 हजार 717 मेगावाट बिजली की खपत हुई जो अब तक की सबसे अधिक है। इससे पहले जून 2022 में 7 हजार 695 मेगावाट बिजली का उपयोग हुआ था। इस समय दिल्‍ली में भीषण गर्मी पड रही है। मौसम विभाग ने अगले चार दिन अत्‍याधिक गर्मी पडने की संभावना व्‍यक्‍त की है।

महाराष्ट्र में 93 प्रतिशत से अधिक विद्यार्थि‍यों ने अपनी कक्षा 12 या उच्चतर माध्यमिक प्रमाणपत्र परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की है। महाराष्ट्र राज्य माध्यमिक और उच्चतर माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड ने कल परिणाम जारी किया, जिसमें कुल मिलाकर 93 दशमलव तीन सात प्रतिशत विद्यार्थी उत्तीर्ण हुए। 21 फरवरी से 19 मार्च तक आयोजित परीक्षाओं में 15 लाख 13 हजार से अधिक उम्मीदवार शामिल हुए थे। लड़कियों ने बेहतर प्रदर्शन किया और 95 दशमलव चार-चार प्रतिशत उत्तीर्ण होकर लड़कों से 3 दशमलव आठ-चार प्रतिशत आगे रहीं। महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे और उपमुख्यमंत्रियों देवेन्द्र फड़णवीस और अजीत पवार ने सफल उम्मीदवारों को बधाई दी है और उज्ज्वल भविष्य के लिए शुभकामनाएं दी हैं।

 

विमान की चपेट में आने से राजहंस पक्षी की मौत

 

मुंबई के घाटकोपर में अलग-अलग स्थानों पर कल कम से कम 39 राजहंस मृत पाए गए। मुंबई के नागरिक निकाय के अनुसार, पक्षियों की मौत मुख्य रूप से एमिरेट्स विमान की चपेट में आने से हुई। जबकि घटना के बाद विमान सुरक्षित रूप से उतर गया, मौत का सही कारण निर्धारित करने के लिए मृत पक्षियों को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेजा गया है। मुंबई के नागरिक निकाय, वन विभाग और हवाई यातायात नियंत्रण की टीमों ने घाटकोपर के पंत नगर इलाके में तलाशी अभियान चलाया और शव बरामद किए।

भारतीय जनता पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता तथा गृह और सहकारिता मंत्री अमित शाह आज चुनाव प्रचार के लिए पश्चिम बंगाल आएंगे। वे कांथी लोकसभा क्षेत्र में एक सार्वजनिक बैठक में शामिल होंगे। बाद में वह पार्टी के लोकसभा उम्मीदवारों के समर्थन में घाटल, पुरुलिया और बांकुरा में तीन सार्वजनिक बैठकों को संबोधित करेंगे। भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा भी आज पश्चिम बंगाल में पार्टी के कोलकाता उत्तर और कोलकाता दक्षिण लोकसभा क्षेत्रों के समर्थन में सार्वजनिक बैठकों में भाग लेंगे, बाद में वे पार्टी के बारासात लोकसभा उम्मीदवार के समर्थन में एक रोड शो में शामिल होंगे।

राजधानी दिल्ली में आज लोगों को गर्मी का सामना करना पडेगा। अधिकतम तापमान 44 डिग्री सेल्सियस और न्यूनतम तापमान 31 सेल्सियस रह सकता है। 

 

मुंबई में आसमान साफ रहेगा। न्‍यूनतम तापमान 27 डिग्री सेल्सियस और अधिकतम तापमान 36 डिग्री तक जा सकता है।

 

कोलकाता में आंशिक रूप से बादल छाए रहेंगे और कुछ स्‍थानों पर हल्‍की बूंदा बांदी की संभावना है। न्‍यूनतम तापमान 26 डिग्री सेल्सियस जबकि अधिकतम तापमान 35 डिग्री सेल्सियस के आस पास रहेगा।

Biodiversity is akin to a jigsaw puzzle, where each piece is crucial for the whole picture. Changes in an ecosystem, such as temperature shifts, can significantly affect what plants and animals can thrive there. As human populations grow, we increasingly encroach upon and sometimes overtake these ecosystems, leading to a decline in their rich biodiversity. It is imperative that we re-evaluate our relationship with nature and utilize its resources judiciously and consciously.

 

Despite our technological advancements, we remain utterly dependent on healthy and vibrant ecosystems for essentials such as water, food, medicines, clothes, fuel, shelter, and energy. This dependence underscores the importance of respecting, protecting, and repairing our biological wealth.

 

आज विश्व जैव विविधता दिवस है, यह एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय पर्व है। जिसे हम विश्व जैव विविधता संरक्षण दिवस भी कहते हैं और यह प्रतिवर्ष सम्पूर्ण विश्व में ’22 मई’ को मनाया जाता है। इसे संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ ने प्रारंभ किया था। जैव विविधता सभी जीवों एवं पारिस्थितिकी तंत्रों की विभिन्नता एवं असमानता को कहा जाता है। 1992 में ब्राज़ील के रियो डि जेनेरियो में हुए जैव विविधता सम्मेलन के अनुसार जैव विविधता की परिभाषा इस प्रकार हैः- “धरातलीय, महासागरीय एवं अन्य जलीय पारिस्थितिकीय तंत्रों में उपस्थित अथवा उससे संबंधित तंत्रों में पाए जाने वाले जीवों के बीच विभिन्नता जैवविविधता है।  विश्व के समृद्धतम जैव विविधता वाले 17 देशों में भारत भी सम्मिलित है, जिनमें विश्व की लगभग 70 प्रतिशत जैव विविधता विद्यमान है। विश्व के कुल 25 जैव विविधता के सक्रिय केन्द्रों में से दो क्षेत्र पूर्वी हिमालय और पश्चिमी घाट, भारत में है।

तो आप को बता दें कि  आज पुण्यतिथि है श्रीपाद अमृत डांगे की। वे भारत में समाजवादी विचारों के प्रसार करने के लिए जाने जाते हैं और उन्होंने ‘द सोशलिस्ट’ नामक समाचार पत्र प्रकाशित करना प्रारम्भ किया। उन्होंने मज़दूरों में चेतना जाग्रत की तथा उन्हें अपने हितों के लिए संघर्ष करते हुए प्रोत्साहित किया। श्रीपाद अमृत डांगे ने ‘गांधी व लेनिन’ नामक पुस्तक भी लिखी, जिसमें इन दोनों नेताओं तथा उनके विचारों का तुलनात्मक विश्लेषण किया गया है।

 

आज ही पुण्यतिथि है गोविन्द चन्द्र पाण्डे की। वे 20वीं सदी के जाने माने चिंतक, इतिहासवेत्ता, संस्कृतज्ञ तथा सौंदर्यशास्त्री थे। वे संस्कृत, हिब्रू तथा लेटिन जैसी अनेक भाषाओं के असाधारण विद्वान, कई पुस्तकों के प्रसिद्ध लेखक तथा हिन्दी कवि भी थे। प्राचीन भारतीय इतिहास, संस्कृति, बौद्ध दर्शन, साहित्य, इतिहास लेखन तथा दर्शन आदि में गोविन्द चन्द्र पाण्डे को विशेषज्ञता प्राप्त थी। अनेक चर्चित किताबों तथा सैंकड़ों शोध पत्रों के वे लेखक थे। वर्ष 2010 में उन्हें ‘पद्मश्री’ से सम्मानित किया गया था।

 

Today is the death anniversary of Langston Hughes, an American poet, social activist, novelist, playwright, and columnist from Joplin, Missouri. One of the earliest innovators of the literary art form called jazz poetry, Hughes is best known as a leader of the Harlem Renaissance which refers to the flowering of black intellectual, literary, and artistic life that took place in the 1920s in a number of American cities, particularly Harlem. He sought to honestly portray the joys and hardships of working-class black lives, avoiding both sentimental idealization and negative stereotypes.

 

His first poetry collection, The Weary Blues, was published in 1926. From 1942 to 1962, as the civil rights movement gained traction, Hughes wrote an in-depth weekly opinion column in a leading black newspaper, The Chicago Defender.

Today is the death anniversary of Victor-Marie Hugo, a French Romantic writer and politician.

His most famous works are the novels The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1831) and Les Misérables (1862). In France, Hugo is renowned for his poetry collections, such as Les Contemplations (The Contemplations) and La Légende des siècles (The Legend of the Ages).

 

Hugo’s poetry is characterized by its emotional intensity, lyrical beauty, and epic scope. He experimented with various poetic forms, from sonnets to dramatic monologues, and explored themes of love, loss, nature, and the human condition. He often employed vivid imagery and symbolism, infusing his verse with a sense of grandeur and pathos.

 

Writing during a period of rapid social and political change, Hugo’s work reflects the revolutionary spirit of the times. He was a staunch advocate for democracy, freedom of speech, and the abolition of poverty and oppression.

आज ही पुण्यतिथि है रेवा प्रसाद द्विवेदी की। वे काशी के प्रकांड विद्वान थे। उन्होंने साहित्य और शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में कई प्रतिमान गढ़े। रेवा प्रसाद द्विवेदी साहित्यशास्त्र के मूर्धन्य विद्वान थे। वह काशी हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय के संस्कृत विद्या धर्म विज्ञान संकाय के पूर्व संकाय प्रमुख रहे। साहित्यशास्त्र के साहित्य विभाग में विभागाध्यक्ष रहे। उन्होंने अनेकों ग्रंथों की रचना की थी। इसमें तीन महाकाव्य अद्भुत हैं। शताब्दी का सबसे बड़ा महाकाव्य ‘स्वातंत्र्यसंभव’ जो 103 सर्ग का है। पंडित रेवा प्रसाद द्विवेदी ने दो नाटक और  20 महाकाव्य लिखे थे। पंडित रेवा प्रसाद द्विवेदी संस्कृत साहित्य के महाकवि, नाटककार और समीक्षक थे। पंडित द्विवेदी ने संस्कृत भाषा में तीन महाकाव्य, 20 खंडकाव्य और दो नाटकों से ज्यादा कृतियों की रचना की थी। काशी हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय में वह 1971 से 1990 तक संस्कृत के प्रोफेसर, विभागाध्यक्ष और संकाय प्रमुख रहे। उनके महाकाव्य ‘स्वातंत्र्यसम्भवम’ के लिए उन्हें 1991 में साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था।

 

नवीन साहित्यशास्त्र नवीन की स्थापना में पंडित रेवा प्रसाद द्विवेदी का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा। उन्हें राष्ट्रपति पुरस्कार, 1979 में मिल गया था। उत्तर प्रदेश संस्कृत संस्थान की ओर से ‘विश्व भारती सम्मान’ से भी सम्मानित हो चुके थे। राष्ट्र की तमाम संस्थाओं ने उन्हें अनेक पुरस्कारों से पुरस्कृत किया। साहित्यशास्त्र के जो भी छात्र आज पूरी दुनिया में दिखाई दे रहे हैं, वह कहीं न कहीं से प्रोफेसर रेवा प्रसाद द्विवेदी की परंपरा से जुड़े हुए हैं। प्रो. द्विवेदी को आधुनिक महाकवि कालिदास की उपाधि से अलंकृत किया गया था। वे काशी की धरोहर थे। काशी की अत्यंत प्रसिद्ध पंडित परंपरा काशी विद्वत्परिषद के संगठन मंत्री के रूप में उन्होने विद्वत्परिषद् को बौद्धिक ऊंचाई दी। उन्होंने सैकड़ों शोध पत्रों, ग्रंथो व पुस्तकों का संपादन किया।

Today is the birth anniversary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy, an Indian reformer who was one of the founders of the Brahmo Sabha in 1828, the precursor of the Brahmo Samaj, a social-religious reform movement in the Indian subcontinent. He was given the title of Raja by Akbar II, the Mughal emperor. His influence was apparent in the fields of politics, public administration, education and religion. He was known for his efforts to abolish the practices of sati and child marriage. Roy is considered to be the “Father of Indian Renaissance” by many historians.

 

In 1988 Doordarshan Serial Bharat Ek Khoj produced and directed by Shyam Benegal also Picturised a Full One Episode on Raja Ram Mohan Roy. And In 1984 Films Division of India created a documentary Raja Rammohan Roy directed by P. C. Sharma.

आज जयंती है राजा राममोहन राय की। उनको ‘आधुनिक भारतीय समाज का जन्मदाता’ कहा जाता है। वे ब्रह्म समाज के संस्थापक, भारतीय भाषायी प्रेस के प्रवर्तक, जनजागरण और सामाजिक सुधार आंदोलन के प्रणेता तथा बंगाल में नव-जागरण युग के पितामह थे। धार्मिक और सामाजिक विकास के क्षेत्र में राजा राममोहन राय का नाम सबसे अग्रणी है। राजा राम मोहन राय ने तत्कालीन भारतीय समाज की कट्टरता, रूढ़िवादिता एवं अंध विश्वासों को दूर करके उसे आधुनिक बनाने का प्रयास किया। उन्होंने अपने जीवन में अरबी, फ़ारसी, अंग्रेज़ी, ग्रीक, हिब्रू आदि भाषाओं का अध्ययन किया था।

 

हिन्दू, ईसाई, इस्लाम और सूफ़ी धर्म का भी उन्होंने गम्भीर अध्ययन किया था। वे अंग्रेज़ी भाषा और सभ्यता से काफ़ी प्रभावित थे। उन्होंने इंग्लैंड की यात्रा की। धर्म और समाज सुधार उनका मुख्य लक्ष्य था। वे ईश्वर की एकता में विश्वास करते थे और सभी प्रकार के धार्मिक अंधविश्वास और कर्मकांडों के विरोधी थे। अपने विचारों को उन्होंने लेखों और पुस्तकों में प्रकाशित करवाया। किन्तु हिन्दू और ईसाई प्रचारकों से उनका काफ़ी संघर्ष हुआ, परन्तु वे जीवन भर अपने विचारों का समर्थन करते रहे और उनके प्रचार के लिए उन्होंने ब्रह्मसमाज की स्थापना की।

आज ही पुण्यतिथि है जाने – माने संगीतकार रामलक्ष्मण की। वे हिन्दी सिनेमा जगत के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार थे। कई ब्लॉकबस्टर फ़िल्में- ‘मैंने प्यार किया’, ‘हम आपके हैं कौन’ और ‘हम साथ साथ हैं’ में किये गये अपने काम के लिए वह विशेषतौर पर जाने जाते हैं। संगीतकार रामलक्ष्मण का असली नाम ‘विजय पाटिल’ (Vijay Patil) था।

 

वह संगीतकार जोड़ी राम-लक्ष्मण में से एक लक्ष्मण थे। जबकि उनके जोड़ीदार राम यानी की राम सुरेंद्र थे। राम सुरेंद्र की मृत्यु के बाद विजय पाटिल यानी लक्ष्मण ने अपने नाम के साथ राम भी जोड़ लिया और इस प्रकार वह रामलक्ष्मण के नाम से भी जाने-पहचाने गये। रामलक्ष्मण ने करीब 150 फिल्मों में संगीत दिया थाहिंदी फिल्मों के अलावा रामलक्ष्मण ने मराठी और भोजपुरी फिल्मों के लिए भी काम किया था। रामलक्ष्मण की मुख्य फिल्मों में ‘मैंने प्यार किया’, ‘पत्थर के फूल’, ‘100 डेज’, ‘प्रेम शक्ति’, ‘मेघा’, ‘तराना’, ‘हम आपके हैं कौन’ और ‘हम साथ साथ हैं’ सहित अन्य हैं। मराठी फिल्ममेकर और अभिनेता दादा कोंडके ने रामलक्ष्मण को अपनी फिल्म ‘पांडु हवलदार’ के लिए बतौर संगीतकार साइन किया था। इसके बाद सूरज बड़जात्या की फिल्मों में उन्होंने कई हिट गाने दिए।

Today is the birth anniversary of Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, a British writer and physician. He created the character of Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr. Watson. The Sherlock Holmes stories are a milestones in the field of crime fiction.

 

Doyle was a prolific writer; other than Holmes stories, his works include fantasy and science fiction stories about Professor Challenger, and humorous stories about the Napoleonic soldier Brigadier Gerard, as well as plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction, and historical novels.

Today we celebrate the birthday of Novak Djokovic, a Serbian professional tennis player who is currently ranked world No. 1 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Djokovic has won a record 24 Grand Slam men’s singles titles, including a record ten Australian Open titles. Djokovic is the only man in tennis history to be the reigning champion of all four majors at once across three different surfaces.

 

Djokovic began playing tennis at the age of four, after his parents gave him a mini-racket and a soft foam ball, which his father said became “the most beloved toy in his life”. Djokovic began his professional career in 2003. By 2010, Djokovic had begun to separate himself from the rest of the field and, as a result, the trio of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic was referred to as the “Big Three” among fans and commentators.
