Indian Army is conducting trials of next-generation defence technologies at key locations across the country, including the Pokhran Field Firing Ranges, Babina Field Firing Ranges, and Joshimath. The Ministry of Defence in a statement said that these field trials are being conducted under near-combat conditions, integrating electronic warfare simulations to assess the performance of cutting-edge defence systems rigorously. Air Defence equipment demonstrations are also scheduled to take place in Agra and Gopalpur. The demonstrations feature a wide array of advanced technologies developed under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Key platforms undergoing evaluation include Unmanned Aerial Systems, UAV-launched Precision-Guided Munitions, Loitering Munitions, Low-Level Lightweight Radars, Electronic Warfare Platforms, and specialised vertical-launch drones. A large number of defence industry partners are taking part in the demonstration. The Ministry said that trials are designed to ensure the rapid absorption of emerging technologies to meet evolving battlefield requirements.

In Pakistan, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) freedom fighters have taken complete control of Surab city in the Balochistan province, paralysing all military, administrative, and financial structures of the state. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the operation continued for over three hours, during which the fighters took control of the paramilitary force station, police station, Deputy Commissioner office, guest house, and bank, damaging infrastructure. He claimed that BLA has taken complete control of Surab city and set up checkpoints on the Quetta-Karachi and Surab-Gidar main highways, further tightening restrictions on state movement through snap checking. People from Balochistan are currently fighting for their independence from Pakistan. Various human rights organisations of Balochistan have time and again highlighted the repression by Pakistani forces in the province.

पूर्वोत्तर-बारिश
उत्तर-पूर्वी राज्यों में पिछले दो दिन में मूसलाधार बारिश से जन-जीवन प्रभावित हुआ है। पिछले 24 घंटे में तेज वर्षा से भू-स्खलन, मकान ढहने और डूबने की घटनाओं में 27 लोगों की मौत हुई है। बंगाल की खाड़ी में भी कल लगातार दूसरे दिन तेज वर्षा हुई। तेज वर्षा से जुड़ी घटनाओं में, अरुणाचल प्रदेश में 9, मेघालय में 6, असम और मिजोरम में पांच-पांच तथा त्रिपुरा और नागालैंड में एक-एक लोगों की मौत की पुष्टि हुई है। कई जिलों में यातायात पर भी असर पड़ा है। मौसम विभाग ने अगले दो-तीन दिन तक देश के पूर्वी, पश्चिमी, मध्यवर्ती और उत्तर-पूर्वी क्षेत्रों में मूसलाधार बारिश का अनुमान व्यक्त किया है।

The Tamilnadu Government has launched SimpleGov – a digitised self declaration based system to issue key certificates and NOCs in a day. The initial roll out covers ten services including sanitation certificates, public building licenses, registration for old age homes, hostels for working women and women’s homes, solvency certificates, white category industries list, NOCs for converting wetlands to non agricultural use, good conduct certificates and NOCs for Government staff applying for passports. The services were launched by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. There are plans to add 150 services to this soon. With SimpleGov, most services will be delivered within a day using digital KYC, QR codes, automated workflows and self declaration forms.

The Tamil Nadu Fish Food Festival will conclude today. The festival is being organised by the Department of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare at Island Grounds in Chennai. The objective of organising the festival is to help the public gain knowledge about various fish based food items. More than 50 stalls, an exhibition hall for ornamental fish are among others set up at the venue. Cultural events and cooking competitions are also being organised for students and women from fishing communities.

Customs sleuths at Chennai airport arrested a man for smuggling 6 kilograms of hydroponic ganja from Bangkok, Thailand. The passenger was intercepted on suspicion to exit the arrival terminal. Customs sleuths searched him and found an unusually high number of sachets of snacks. When these packets were unwrapped, hydroponic ganja was found hidden inside. At Least 6 kilograms of ganja, valued at approximately 6 crore, was seized from the flyer. Hydroponic ganja, unlike regular cannabis, is grown in a controlled atmosphere without soil and is in high demand in the illegal narcotics market for its high THC content. The passenger was arrested under the NDPS Act and remanded in judicial custody.

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot inaugurated the Centre for Future Skills in Mysuru yesterday. The Centre has come up in Karnataka State Open University. It will function in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation, Skill India and Ethnotech Group. The youth will be imparted with industry relevant skills and future ready competencies. In his address, the Governor highlighted the transformative role of skill based education in nation building exercise. Mr Gehlot noted that Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, National Skill Development Mission, Skill India Mission and National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme are creating a globally competitive and work ready workforce.

A high impact Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief exercise was conducted in Bengaluru yesterday to bolster inter agency preparedness to ensure swift, coordinated response during any exigency. The exercise was led by the Gorkha Battalion of the Amphibious Brigade of the National Disaster Response Force, the State Disaster Response Force, State Emergency Services and Local Civil Authorities. The exercise was undertaken keeping the monsoon season in mind to tackle the risk of urban flooding. The exercise replicated realistic emergency scenarios to test the synergy of the disaster response ecosystem.

Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri has been crowned Miss World 2025 at the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad last evening. The winner was crowned by Miss World 2024 Krystyna Pyszková, marking the culmination of month-long cultural exchange and competition.
The grand finale brought together 108 contestants from around the globe. The top contestants had advanced through a series of fast-track events like the Head to Head Challenge, Top Model, Beauty with a Purpose, Talent, Sports, and Multimedia, before being narrowed down to 40 quarterfinalists, then a Top 10 in each continental group, followed by the Top 5, Top 2, and finally, one crowned winner.
Finalists have been put through a round of thought-provoking questions by the panel of judges. Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri answered a question from Actor Sonu Sood that ‘what the journey taught her about storytelling and personal responsibility. Her answer was that she learned they must become people of their loved ones look up to, and no matter how far they go, their actions should always speak louder.
India got eliminated when top 5 shortlisted out of top 10 contestants were selected from each region. The event witnessed captivating performances, including a spirited Bollywood dance segment by Jacqueline Fernandez and actor Ishaan Khatter. Actor Sonu Sood was presented with the Miss World Humanitarian Award at the event.

दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने राष्ट्रीय जनता दल प्रमुख और पूर्व रेल मंत्री लालू प्रसाद यादव की याचिका को खारिज कर दिया है। इसमें उन्होंने केंद्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो-सीबीआई द्वारा दर्ज किए गए भूमि के बदले नौकरी घोटाले के मामले में निचली अदालत की कार्यवाही पर रोक लगाने की मांग की थी।

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने जम्मू-कश्मीर के पहलगाम में हाल ही में हुए आतंकी हमले में जान गंवाने वाले छह राज्य निवासियों के परिवारों को ₹50-50 लाख की वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की है। शुरुआत में सरकार ने प्रति परिवार ₹5 लाख की सहायता राशि घोषित की थी, लेकिन बाद में राज्य मंत्रिमंडल के निर्णय के बाद राशि बढ़ा दी गई। बढ़ा हुआ मुआवज़ा अब प्रभावित परिवारों को वितरित कर दिया गया है।

विश्व दुग्ध दिवस
हम रोजाना में उपयोग करने वाले दूध के बारे में आज बात करेंगें। दैनिक जीवन में दूध के महत्व को समझने के लिए हर साल पहली जून को विश्व दुग्ध दिवस मनाया जाता है।लखनऊ, कानपुर, बरेली, बनारस और गाजियाबाद, बड़ी आबादी वाले जिलों में भी दुग्ध व्यवसाय से जुड़कर लोग अच्छी कमाई कर रहे हैं। जिलों के मध्य की आबादी छोड़कर बाह्य भौगोलिक क्षेत्र में पशुओं के पालने से लेकर दूध की सप्लाई तक के कार्य में युवाओं की भागीदारी बढ़ रही है। राष्ट्रीय डेयरी विकास कार्यक्रम इसके बुनियादी ढांचे को मजबूत बनाता है। राष्ट्रीय गोकुल मिशन और पशुपालन अवसंरचना विकास निधि ऐसे माध्यम हैं, जो दुग्ध उत्पादकों को ज्यादा लाभ देने के लिए सरल हैं।
Today also marks World Milk Day. It is observed annually on 1st of June, with the aim to unite countries, organizations, and communities to recognize and amplify the dairy sector’s impact on sustainable agriculture, economic development, and global health.
Today is Global Day of Parents. The day emphasizes the critical role of parents in the rearing of children. The theme for this year is “Raising Parents”. The theme draws attention that parenting is a learned skill. In 2012, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 1st of June as the Global Day of Parents, to be observed annually in honour of parents throughout the world.

वाजिद अली ख़ान (अंग्रेज़ी: Wajid Ali Khan, जन्म- 7 अक्टूबर, 1977, सहारनपुर, उत्तर प्रदेश; मृत्यु- 1 जून, 2020, मुम्बई, महाराष्ट्र) भारतीय हिन्दी सिनेमा की प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार जोड़ी ‘साजिद-वाजिद’ में से एक थे। वाजिद ख़ान कलात्मक जोड़ी ‘साजिद-वाजिद’ बनाने के लिए अपने बड़े भाई साजिद ख़ान के साथ जुड़ गए थे। उनका एकल अभिनय के रूप में एक अलग गायन कॅरियर भी था और एक पार्श्व कलाकार के रूप में उन्हें कई पुरस्कारों के लिए नामांकित किया गया था। बॉलीवुड में साजिद-वाजिद की जोड़ी काफी मशहूर थी। उन्होंन सबसे पहले 1998 में सलमान ख़ान की फिल्म ‘प्यार किया तो डरना क्या’ के लिए संगीत दिया था। 1999 में उन्होंने सोनू निगम की एल्बम ‘दीवाना’ के लिए संगीत दिया, उसी साल उन्होंने फिल्म ‘हैलो ब्रदर’ के लिए संगीत निर्देशकों के रूप में काम किया और ‘हटा सावन की घाटा’, ‘चुपके से कोई और’ तथा ‘हैलो ब्रदर’ जैसे गाने लिखे थे। इसके अलावा वाजिद ख़ान ने कई शो भी जज किये थे।
