पिछली एक सदी में पहली बार किसी पोप का अंतिम संस्कार वैटिकन सिटी से बाहर हो रहा है। इससे पहले 1903 में पोप लियो 13वें को वैटिकन से बाहर दफनाया गया था। पोप फ्रांसिस पहले लैटिन अमरीकी पोप थे, जो रोमन कैथलिक चर्च के प्रमुख बने। उनका निधन 88 वर्ष की आयु में 21 अप्रैल को हुआ था। गृह मंत्रालय ने कहा कि उनके सम्मान में आज भारत में राजकीय शोक रहेगा और सरकारी भवनों पर राष्ट्रीय ध्वज झुका रहेगा। सरकार ने पोप फ्रांसिस के निधन पर तीन दिन के राजकीय शोक की घोषणा की थी।

रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन- डीआरडीओ ने एक हजार सेकंड से अधिक समय तक एक्टिव कूल्ड स्क्रैमजैट सबस्केल कॉम्बस्टर का ग्राउंड परीक्षण करके स्क्रैमजेट इंजन विकास में महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि हासिल की है। डीआरडीओ की हैदराबाद प्रयोगशाला ने कल नवनिर्मित अत्याधुनिक स्क्रैमजैट कनेक्ट परीक्षण केंद्र में ग्राउंड परीक्षण किया। ग्राउंड परीक्षण जनवरी में 120 सेकंड के पहले परीक्षण का अगला चरण है। सफल परीक्षण के साथ, यह प्रणाली शीघ्र ही उड़ान योग्य कॉम्बस्टर परीक्षण के लिए तैयार हो गई है। रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने इस उपलब्धि के लिए डीआरडीओ, उद्योग भागीदारों और शिक्षाविदों को बधाई दी है।

A total of 191 Pakistani nationals visiting India returned home through the Attari-Wagah land route in Punjab’s Amritsar yesterday. It comes after the Centre set a 48-hour deadline for them to leave the country in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. Earlier, 28 were returned to Pakistan on 24th of this month. Meanwhile, a total of 287 Indian nationals, who were visiting the neighbouring country, have also returned.

Among the top accolades for Akashvani, former Union Minister Smriti Irani’s programme ‘Nai Soch Nai Kahani – A Radio Journey with Smriti Irani’ was named Series of the Year on radio. The 13 episode series celebrated the incredible tales of grit and determination of women in particular. The series culminated with an exclusive interview with the President of India Droupadi Murmu, which was recorded in the President’s House last year.
The News Services Division’s popular weekly phone-in show Public Speak was recognised as the Best Produced Audio Streaming Programme in the Health and Fitness category. Other award-winning programmes include ‘Chhayageet’, which won in the Best Late Night Show category; ‘Ujale Unki Yadon Ke’, named Best Celebrity Show on Air; and ‘Safarcast’, which clinched the award for Best Travel Show.
Akashvani also bagged the award for the Best Interstitial, showcasing its creative excellence in short-form audio content.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Russia and Ukraine are very close to a deal on ending conflict between the two countries. President Trump’s remarks came following a meeting between his envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Ukraine was not part of the talks. Speaking in Rome, the US President stated that most of the key points for a potential deal had already been agreed upon. He said, the war is killing five thousand people a week and must end soon. He also accused Ukraine of delaying a rare earth minerals deal with the US. Meanwhile, the Kremlin described the three-hour meeting between Mr Witkoff and President Putin as constructive, saying it helped bring the U.S. and Russian positions closer.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that a full and unconditional ceasefire must come first before any talks on territorial issues. He also called for more pressure on Russia, saying it was the only way to achieve peace.
According to the media reports, the US plan also blocks Ukraine from joining NATO and includes US recognition of Russia’s annexation of parts of Ukraine. European and Ukrainian leaders oppose this and want to discuss territory only after a ceasefire.

The Indian contingent for the 26th Asian Athletics Championship to be held from 27 to 31st of May in Gumi, South Korea was officially released by the Athletic Federation of India on Friday at New Delhi. The Indian team consisting of 64 Athletes were selected based on their performance in the 28th National Federation Senior Athletic Championship which concluded in Kochi on 24th April. Nine athletes from Tamilnadu are selected to participate in this prestigious championship. This includes six men athletes and three female athletes.

नई कार्ययोजना के तहत प्रदूषण फैलाने वाले एवं उम्र पूरी कर चुके वाहनों को राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में प्रवेश करने से रोका जाएगा। दिल्ली सरकार में मंत्री मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने पर्यावरण विभाग, परिवहन विभाग और दिल्ली ट्रैफिक पुलिस के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ एक उच्च-स्तरीय बैठक में यह फैसला लिया। इस बैठक में प्रदूषण पर चर्चा के दौरान उम्र पूरी कर चुके वाहनों को दिल्ली में प्रवेश से रोकने के उपायों की समीक्षा की गई। इस बैठक के बाद श्री सिरसा ने कहा कि डेटा, ऑटोमेशन और अंतरराज्यीय संचार के माध्यम से सरकार दिल्ली के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में प्रदूषण के विरुद्ध सुरक्षा कवच बना रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि इन कैमरों से पड़ोसी राज्यों से आने वाले वाहनों की पहचान की जाएगी, और एसएमएस और व्हाट्स ऐप के माध्यम से अलर्ट भी भेजे जाएंगेI

So far, 10,872 parcels ordered via the Annachy app have been successfully delivered through postal channel across Tamil Nadu and other states. Additionally, grievance redressal mechanism is set up for corporate clients ensuring prompt resolution of delivery-related issues.

Karnataka minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment Eeshwar Khandre has informed media persons that the work on Elephant Soft Release Centre will begin within two months at Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. The minister said that the Detailed Project Report is getting ready to set up the Release Centre for elephants to prevent them from raiding nearby villages and crop lands for food. He said the area for the Centre is identified and work worth 55 crore rupees will begin in about two months. Saying that 50 to 60 people die every year due to wild animal attacks, the minister said that setting up of the Release Centre will mitigate the human elephant conflict in Hassan, Chikmagalur, Shivamogga and Kodagu. To be called as Elephant Vihar Dham, this Soft Release Centre will have bamboo, jackfruit and grass for feeding the elephants. The forest department will capture the elephants straying into nearby villages and release them in the Elephant Vihar Dham spread across 2000 hectares within the sanctuary. The Dham will have barricades to prevent the elephants from escaping to human habitats.

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस और उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने मुंबई की जीवन रेखा बेस्ट को हरी झंडी दिखाई। बेस्ट 503 पूरी तरह से इलेक्ट्रिक, वातानुकूलित बसों को शामिल करके एक बड़े अपग्रेड के लिए तैयार है। सरकार का लक्ष्य 2027 तक पूरे बेड़े को इलेक्ट्रिक बनाना है। एक समीक्षा बैठक में, मुख्यमंत्री फडणवीस ने बेस्ट को सेवाओं का आधुनिकीकरण करने, यात्रियों के प्रतीक्षा समय को कम करने और मुंबई की संकरी सड़कों के लिए कॉम्पैक्ट बसों की खरीद के लिए एनसीएपी फंड का उपयोग करने का निर्देश दिया। राजस्व उत्पन्न करने के लिए वाणिज्यिक केंद्रों और मराठी सिनेमा थिएटरों के साथ डिपो के पुनर्विकास की योजना भी चल रही है।
मुंबई में धार्मिक स्थलों पर विशेष स्वच्छता अभियान शुरू किया
बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम (बीएमसी) ने 28 अप्रैल से 9 मई, 2025 तक पूरे मुंबई में धार्मिक स्थलों पर विशेष सफाई अभियान शुरू किया है। यह अभियान प्रतिदिन सुबह 11 बजे से दोपहर 1 बजे तक चलेगा और इसमें स्वयंसेवी संगठनों, नागरिकों और ठोस अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन विभाग के सामूहिक प्रयास शामिल होंगे। यह अभियान शहर भर में सड़कों, स्कूलों, अस्पतालों और राजमार्गों की सफाई सहित स्वच्छता पहलों के सफल समापन के बाद शुरू किया गया है।
बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम (बीएमसी) गणेशोत्सव 2025 की तैयारी कर रहे मूर्तिकारों को पंडालों और पर्यावरण के अनुकूल मिट्टी के लिए मुफ्त जगह दे रहा है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य पर्यावरण के प्रति जागरूक तरीके से त्योहार मनाना है। मूर्तिकारों को हरित उत्सव सुनिश्चित करने के लिए बीएमसी प्रशासन के साथ सहयोग करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाता है। बैठक के दौरान, बीएमसी अधिकारियों ने मूर्तिकारों को प्रदान की जाने वाली सुविधाओं की समीक्षा की और आश्वासन दिया कि वार्ड कार्यालय स्तर पर उनके सामने आने वाली किसी भी समस्या का तुरंत समाधान किया जाएगा। बीएमसी पर्यावरण संरक्षण को बढ़ावा देने के लिए उच्च न्यायालय और केंद्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड के दिशानिर्देशों का अनुपालन करते हुए त्योहार मनाने की दिशा में काम कर रही है।

Director General of Telangana Police, Dr Jitender has issued an advisory notifying the Central Government orders about immediate suspension of Visa services to Pakistani nationals. As per the statement, all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani citizens will stand revoked with effect from tomorrow. However, the medical visas will remain valid till April 29. The decision excludes holders of Long-Term Visas (LTVs), diplomatic and official visas, who are not affected by the revocation.
A total of about 230 Pakistan nationals in the State hold Indian visas. Pakistani citizens currently residing in the State have been urged to adhere strictly to the updated guidelines to avoid legal consequences. The Attari border will remain open for Pakistani nationals departing from India till April 30.

जानवर और इंसान के बीच का रिश्ता खास होता है क्योंकि यह बिना कहे होता है। यह मौखिक संचार की आवश्यकता से परे होता है, और हम अपने पशु साथियों के लिए जो प्यार महसूस करते हैं वह अन्य अधिकांश रिश्तों से बढ़कर होता है और इसलिए उनके प्रति और जागरूक होने के लिए यह दिन पशुओं के नाम किया गया है। इस दिवस को मनाये जाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य पशुओं के रोगों से सम्बंधित दवाओं पर चर्चा करना तथा उनके प्रति लोगों को जागरूक करना है। विश्व पशु चिकित्सा दिवस के अवसर पर पशु चिकित्सालयों में पशुओं में पाए जाने वाले जीवाणुओं का दवाओं के प्रति प्रतिरोध विषय पर चर्चा की जाती है और लोगों को इस बारे में जागरूक किया जाता है।

Lucille Désirée Ball (August 6, 1911 – April 26, 1989) was an American actress, comedian, producer, and studio executive. She was recognized by Time in 2020 as one of the most influential women of the 20th century for her work in all four of these areas. She was nominated for 13 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning five, and was the recipient of several other accolades, such as the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award and two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She earned many honors, including the Women in Film Crystal Award, an induction into the Television Hall of Fame, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Governors Award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Ball’s career began in 1929 when she landed work as a model. Shortly thereafter, she began her performing career on Broadway using the stage name Diane (or Dianne) Belmont. She later appeared in films in the 1930s and 1940s as a contract player for RKO Radio Pictures, being cast as a chorus girl or in similar roles, During this time, she met Cuban bandleader Desi Arnaz, and they eloped in November 1940. In the 1950s, Ball ventured into television, where she and Arnaz created the sitcom I Love Lucy. She gave birth to their first child, Lucie, in 1951, followed by Desi Arnaz Jr. in 1953. They divorced in March 1960, and she married comedian Gary Morton in 1961.
Ball produced[10] and starred in the Broadway musical Wildcat from 1960 to 1961. In 1962, she became the first woman to run a major television studio, Desilu Productions, which produced many popular television series, including Mission: Impossible and Star Trek. Ball began appearing in a new series, Here’s Lucy, with Gordon, frequent show guest Mary Jane Croft, and Lucie and Desi Jr.; this program ran until 1974.

नितिन बोस (अंग्रेज़ी: Nitin Bose, जन्म- 26 अप्रैल, 1897, कलकत्ता; मृत्यु- 14 अप्रैल, 1986) भारतीय सिनेमा के प्रारंभिक समर्थकों में से एक, प्रसिद्ध फ़िल्म निर्देशक, छायाकार और लेखक थे। वे कलकत्ता (वर्तमान कोलकाता) के प्रसिद्ध ‘न्यू थियेटर्स’ के पीछे की ताकत थे। वर्ष 1935 में उनकी बंगाली फ़िल्म ‘भाग्य चक्र’ में उन्होंने फ़िल्मों का पार्श्वगायन से परिचय करवाया था। बाद में यह फ़िल्म हिन्दी में ‘धूप छाँव’ नाम से बनाई गई। नितिन बोस ने अपने सिने कैरियर में छह मूक फ़िल्मों सहित 50 से भी अधिक फ़िल्मों का निर्देशन और छायांकन किया। उन्हे के. एल. सहगल और उत्तम कुमार के कैरियर को शुरू करने का श्रेय दिया जाता है। बाद में नितिन जी मुंबई आ गये थे और यहाँ फ़िल्म निर्देशन किया। उनकी सर्वश्रेष्ठ फ़िल्मों में से एक ‘गंगा जमुना’ को हिन्दी सिनेमा की सबसे बड़ी फ़िल्मों में से एक माना जाता है। उनके विशिष्ट योगदान के लिए उन्हें वर्ष 1977 में ‘दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित किया गया था। नितिन बोस की फ़िल्म ‘गंगा जमुना’ का प्रसिद्ध गीत “इंसाफ की डगर पे, बच्चो दिखाओ चलके” ऐसा ही एक गीत था, जिसने नई पीढ़ी को उसके दायित्वों का अहसास कराया।

मीनू मुमताज़ (अंग्रेज़ी: Minoo Mumtaz, जन्म- 26 अप्रॅल, 1942; मृत्यु- 23 अक्टूबर, 2021) भारतीय अभिनेत्री थीं। वह अपने समय के मशहूर कॉमेडियन महमूद अली की बहन थीं। भारतीय सिनेमा की दिग्गज अभिनेत्री रहीं मीना कुमारी और मीनू मुमताज़ में काफी गहरी मित्रता थी। सन 1950 से लेकर 1960 के दशक में बतौर डांसर कई फिल्मों में काम करने वाली मीनू मुमताज़ एक डांसर के साथ-साथ कैरेक्टर आर्टिस्ट भी थीं। मीनू मुमताज़ का असली नाम मालिकाउन्निसा अली था। जब फिल्मों में काम करने लगीं तो मीना कुमारी ने उनका नाम बदलकर मीनू मुमताज़ कर दिया था। तब से फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में मीनू मुमताज़ के नाम से मशहूर हो गईं।
मीनू मुमताज ने फिल्मी दुनिया में ‘सखी हातिम’ से कदम रखा था। 1950 और 1960 के दशक की कई हिंदी फिल्मों में उन्होंने काम किया। कई बार फिल्मों में वह डांसर के तौर पर भी नजर आई हैं। उनकी सबसे ज्यादा मशहूर फिल्मों में ‘सीआईडी’, ‘नया दौर’, ‘ताज महल’, ‘गबन’ और ‘जमीर’ शामिल हैं। पहली फिल्म ‘सखी हातिम’ में मीनू मुमताज बलराज साहनी जैसे दिग्गज अभिनेता के साथ थीं। उन्होंने गुरुदत्त साहब के साथ भी काम किया। ‘चौदहवीं का चांद’, ‘कागज के फूल’, ‘साहिब बीवी और गुलाम’, ‘ताजमहल’, ‘घूंघट’, ‘इंसान जाग उठा’, ‘घर बसाके देखो’ जैसी कई फिल्मों में उन्होंने काम किया था।

Many musicians came to prominence under his direction, including the tenor saxophonists Lester Young and Herschel Evans, the guitarist Freddie Green, trumpeters Buck Clayton and Harry “Sweets” Edison, plunger trombonist Al Grey, and singers Jimmy Rushing, Helen Humes, Dennis Rowland, Thelma Carpenter, and Joe Williams.

शंकर सिंह रघुवंशी (अंग्रेज़ी: Shankar Singh Raghuvanshi, जन्म: 15 अक्टूबर 1922 – मृत्यु: 26 अप्रॅल 1987) भारतीय सिनेमा के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार थे। इन्होंने अपनी जोड़ी संगीतकार जयकिशन के साथ मिलकर बनाई और शंकर-जयकिशन नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुए।
शंकर जयकिशन की प्रतिभा के तो वो कायल थे ही और जब उन्होंने शंकर के द्वारा उनकी लिखी कम्पोज़िशन ‘अम्बुआ का पेड़ है, वही मुडेर है, मेरे बालमा, अब काहे की देर है’ की बनायी धुन सुनी तो उन्होंने राम गाँगुली की जगह शंकर जयकिशन को ही बरसात का संगीत सौंप दिया। यही धुन बाद में ‘जिया बेकरार है, छायी बहार है’ के रूप में ‘बरसात’ में आयी। फ़िल्म बरसात में उनकी जोड़ी ने जिया बेकरार है और बरसात में हमसे मिले तुम सजन जैसा सुपरहिट संगीत दिया। फ़िल्म की कामयाबी के बाद शंकर जयकिशन बतौर संगीतकार अपनी पहचान बनाने मे सफल हो गये। इसे महज एक संयोग ही कहा जायेगा कि फ़िल्म बरसात से ही गीतकार शैलेन्द्र और हसरत जयपुरी ने भी अपने सिने कैरियर की शुरूआत की थी। फ़िल्म बरसात की सफलता के बाद शंकर जयकिशन राजकपूर के चहेते संगीतकार बन गये। इसके बाद राजकपूर की फ़िल्मों के लिये शंकर जयकिशन ने बेमिसाल संगीत देकर उनकी फ़िल्मों को सफल बनाने मे महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।

Sir Owen Willans Richardson (26 April 1879 – 15 February 1959) was an English physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1928 for his work on thermionic emission, which led to Richardson’s law.
Richardson was born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England, the son of Joshua Henry and Charlotte Maria Richardson. He was educated at Batley Grammar School and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he gained First Class Honours in Natural Sciences.[9] He then got a DSc from University College London in 1904.
After graduating in 1900, he began researching the emission of electricity from hot bodies at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge, and in October 1902 he was made a fellow at Trinity. In 1901, he demonstrated that the current from a heated wire seemed to depend exponentially on the temperature of the wire with a mathematical form similar to the Arrhenius equation. This became known as Richardson’s law:

मलयज (पूरा नाम: ‘भरत श्रीवास्तव’, जन्म : 1935, मृत्यु: 26 अप्रैल, 1982) हिंदी के प्रतिष्ठित कवि, लेखक और आलोचक थे। मलयज का रामचन्द्र शुक्ल की आलोचना दृष्टि को पुनर्व्याख्यायित करने में महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान है, जिसके कारण हिंदी आलोचना जगत् में ये विशेष उल्लेखनीय माने जाते हैं। ‘अपने होने का अप्रकाशित करता हुआ’ (उनका कविता संग्रह) ‘मलयज’ दिल्ली में कृषि मंत्रालय में कार्य करते थे। इनका एक कविता-संग्रह और समीक्षा-निबंधों को दो पुस्तकें प्रकाशित हैं। इन्होंने ‘अज्ञेय’ और ‘शमशेर बहादुर सिंह’ की प्रशंसा में लंबे निबंध लिखे, जो बहुत सराहे गए। उन पर ‘पूर्वग्रह’ (मध्य प्रदेश) ने मरणोपरांत विशेषांक निकाला गया है।

श्रीनिवास अयंगर रामानुजन् (अंग्रेज़ी: Srinivasa Aiyangar Ramanujan, तमिल: जन्म: 22 दिसम्बर, 1887; मृत्यु: 26 अप्रैल, 1920) महान् भारतीय गणितज्ञ थे। इन्हें आधुनिक काल के महानतम गणित विचारकों में गिना जाता है। इन्हें गणित में कोई विशेष प्रशिक्षण नहीं मिला, फिर भी इन्होंने विश्लेषण एवं संख्या सिद्धांत के क्षेत्रों में गहन योगदान दिए। इन्होंने अपने प्रतिभा और लगन से न केवल गणित के क्षेत्र में अद्भुत अविष्कार किए वरन् भारत को अतुलनीय गौरव भी प्रदान किया। गणित के क्षेत्र में अपने समय के अनेक दिग्गजों को पीछे छोड़ने वाले श्रीनिवास रामानुजन ने केवल 32 साल के जीवनकाल में पूरी दुनिया को गणित के अनेक सूत्र और सिद्धांत दिए।

गणित के जादूगर श्रीनिवास रामानुजन पर ब्रिटिश लेखक ‘रॉबर्ट कनिगेल’ (Robert Kanigel) ने उनके जीवन पर एक किताब भी लिखी है जिसका नाम ‘द मैन हू न्यू इनफिनिटी: ए लाइफ ऑफ द जीनियस रामानुजन’ (The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life of the Genius Ramanujan) है। वहीं उनकी जीवनी के ऊपर वर्ष 2015 में एक फिल्म भी बन चुकी है जिसका नाम भी इस किताब पर ही आधारित है। बता दें कि इस फिल्म में एक्टर ‘देव पटेल’ने श्रीनिवास रामानुजन का किरदार निभाया है।
उन्होंने अनंत श्रेणी, गणितीय विश्लेषण, संख्या सिद्धांत, सतत भिन्न और विभाजन के सिद्धांत में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया, और वे विशेष रूप से मॉड्यूलर रूपों और हाइपरज्यामितीय श्रृंखला पर अपने काम के लिए जाने जाते हैं।
