The BJP Mahila Morcha Nagaland has hailed the enactment of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam as a transformative milestone for Indian democracy, stating that it will usher in a new era of inclusive and participatory governance. Speaking to media persons yesterday, BJP Mahila Morcha Nagaland president Tsachola Rothrong described the legislation as a landmark reform that mandates 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies, including within seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
She said the Act ensures that women will finally secure their rightful place in the country’s highest decision-making bodies. Mrs Rothrong added that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam guarantees constitutional representation for Naga women in legislative governance, opening a new chapter of leadership, participation, and policy influence in the state. The Mahila Morcha President further called on all stakeholders across political lines to support the implementation of the Act in its true spirit, emphasizing that women’s empowerment is not a partisan issue but a national priority and a collective responsibility.
