In Assam, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has approved the allocation of portfolios to the newly inducted members of the Council of Ministers headed by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
According to an official communication issued from Raj Bhavan today, the proposal for allocation of departments was submitted by the Chief Minister and has been duly approved by the Governor.
Rameswar Teli has been assigned the departments of Transformation and Development, Labour Welfare, and Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare. Atul Bora will handle Panchayat and Rural Development, Implementation of the Assam Accord, Border Protection and Development, and the Excise departments.
Charan Boro has been given charge of the Transport Department as well as the Welfare of Bodoland. Smt Ajanta Neog will look after the Women and Child Development and Tourism departments.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and the four Cabinet ministers were sworn in on the 12th of May, marking the beginning of the third term of the NDA government in Assam.
