In Tennis, Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz completed the men’s semifinal lineup at the Cincinnati Open.
Zverev cruised past Toronto champion Ben Shelton 6-2, 6-2 in just 77 minutes to reach the last four. Alcaraz, meanwhile, survived a tense three-set battle with Andrey Rublev, overcoming a late stumble in the decider to seal a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 win and book his 12th Masters 1000 semifinal.
Earlier, top-ranked Jannik Sinner continued his dominant form, dispatching Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-0, 6-2 in 71 minutes. The Wimbledon champion will next face French qualifier Terence Atmane, who upset Holger Rune 6-2, 6-3 to reach his first Masters semifinal.
In women’s singles, defending champion Coco Gauff advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Lucia Bronzetti.
