In Ladakh, preparations are underway for the 10th Edition of Zanskar Festival on the 20th and 21st of September.
The festival is considered one of the most important cultural events of the region, aimed at preserving and promoting the rich heritage, ethnic diversity, and traditional practices of Ladakh.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, chaired a high-level meeting to review arrangements for the grand event.
He emphasised that the festival will not only serve as a platform to celebrate Ladakhi culture but also provide a golden opportunity to promote tourism, adventure sports, and local entrepreneurship.
This year’s festival is expected to witness nearly ten thousand visitors, including cultural troupes, artists from various States, and tribal groups from across Ladakh.
Special attractions will include rafting, archery exhibitions, cultural performances, departmental stalls, and exhibitions of government schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the active involvement of village communities and the promotion of home stays and guesthouses to ensure direct income generation for locals.
He further called upon all stakeholders, including contractors and merchant associations, to extend their cooperation to make the festival a resounding success.
