Union AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav inaugurated a Yoga Festival at Lonar in the Buldhana district today. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Jadhav said yoga is a holistic way of life that promotes mental peace, physical well-being and a positive outlook and can help tackle non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, obesity and stress through regular practice.
The event was organised at the world-famous Lonar Lake with 75 days remaining for International Yoga Day to promote wider awareness about yoga. During the programme, around 6,000 participants performed Trikonasana simultaneously, earning a place in the Asian Book of Records. The certificate was presented to the Union Minister.
A large number of yoga practitioners and dignitaries attended the event.
