Yamuna water level drops, still above danger mark

In the National Capital, the water level of the Yamuna River is receding, but the city continues to grapple with a flood-like situation as the level remains above the danger mark.

According to the latest update, the water level at the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) has dropped to 206.36 metres, falling below 207 metres for the first time in several days.

As a precautionary measure, residents of low-lying areas have been relocated to safer locations and relief camps. According to officials, relief camps have been established at 38 locations across Delhi.

A total of 522 tents have been set up at 27 of these sites to accommodate the displaced population.

The warning mark for the city is 204.50 metres, while the danger mark is 205.33 metres, and evacuation of people starts at 206 metres.

The Old Railway Bridge serves as a key observation point for tracking the river’s flow and potential flood risks.
