World Bank President Ajay Banga dismissed media speculation about the bank’s role in resolving the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, saying it acts solely as a facilitator. Mr. Banga said, there is a lot of speculation in the media about how the World Bank will step in and fix the problem, but it it all bunk . He said that World Bank has no role to play beyond a facilitator.
