Women’s ODI World Cup: India Bat First After Pakistan Wins Toss in Colombo

In the Women’s ODI World Cup game in Colombo,  Pakistan Women were for after Overs, when reports last came in.  Earlier, the Indian Women’s team set a victory target of 248 runs for Pakistan Women. Put into bat first, India made 247 all out in their allotted 50 overs. 

For India, a Harleen Deol top-scored with 46 runs, followed by Richa Ghosh 35runs  and Jemimah Rodrigues 32 runs.  For Pakistan, Diana Beg took 4 wickets, Sadia Iqbal, while Fatima Sana bagged two wickets each. India made one change, bringing in pacer Renuka Singh Thakur in place of allrounder Amanjot Kaur, who was ruled out due to illness.

India has won all 11 encounters against Pakistan so far, with their last encounter resulting in a commanding 107-run victory at the 2022 World Cup. Earlier, a toss controversy erupted after Pakistan captain Fatima Sana was heard calling “tails,” but officials declared “heads” and awarded Pakistan the toss.
