In the ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2025, India will take on New Zealand at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai this afternoon. The match will start at 3PM Indian Standard Time. These two teams are desperate to get two points. They came close to winning in every game but ended up on the wrong side. Meanwhile, Australia defeated England by 6 wickets at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore last night. England Women posted a total of 244 for nine wickets in their allotted 50 overs as Australia won the toss and chose to bowl. England’s star opener, Tammy Beaumont, played a patient innings, scoring 78 runs. For Australia, Annabel Sutherland scalped three wickets.

 

 

In response, Australia comfortably chased down the target, finishing at 248 for four in just 40.3 overs. The victory was powered by a century partnership between Annabel Sutherland, who remained unbeaten on 98, and Ash Gardner, whose record-breaking 69-ball century helped steer the team back into the game against England. The duo stitched together a valuable stand in Australia’s pursuit of 245, marking the highest target chase against England in World Cups. The previous highest was 239 runs chased by Sri Lanka at Brabourne in 2013. 

 

 

Annabel Sutherland was declared Player of the Match.  Since both teams had already secured their spots in the semi-finals, there wasn’t much at stake, but the match still served as a clear warning to the rest of the world about the level of skill and determination needed to topple the reigning powerhouse.
