The Indian women’s hockey team started their campaign at the Women’s Asian Hockey World Cup Qualifier with a 7-2 win against Malaysia on Friday in Oman. At the end of the first half, India were leading Malaysia by 3-2.
For India, captain Navjot Kaur and Monika Dipi Toppo scored two goals each, while Akshata Dhekale, Mariana Kujur, Mahima Choudhary one each.
Wan Wan and Aziz Zafirah scored for Malaysia.
India will next take on Japan tomorrow.
