The Supreme Court today clarified that the Class 10th admit card, accompanied by a pass certificate, can be produced as supplementary documentation for identity verification in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision exercise in West Bengal.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M. Pancholi passed the order after senior advocate D.S. Naidu mentioned the matter before the court.
The senior counsel raised concerns about whether a Class 10 admit card can be accepted as a standalone identity document.
The court clarified that it can be used only as supplementary documentation along with the pass certificate.
