West Bengal: HM Shah visits ISKCON temple on 152nd birth anniversary of Shreel Bhaktishiddhanta Saraswati Thakur

Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah said that renunciation does not mean leaving everything behind but making life meaningful through the chanting of Sri Krishna’s name. He visited the ISKCON temple at Mayapur in Nadia district, West Bengal, on the occasion of the 152nd birth anniversary of Shreel Bhaktishiddhanta Saraswati Thakur.

He said that before proceeding to Mayapur, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and conveyed the Prime Minister’s wishes to the followers of Sri Chaitanya. He added that Shreel Bhaktishiddhanta Saraswati Thakur carried forward the message of Sri Chaitanya. He also mentioned Harichand Thakur and Guruchand Thakur of the Matua community while commenting on their contribution to the Bhakti movement.
