BJP senior leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, the Gorkha’s issues will be solved soon after the formation of BJP government in West Bengal. He was virtually addressing a public rally at Gorkha Stadium, Lebong, Darjeeling today from Malda.
Mr. Shah was scheduled to address the rally physically but due to bad weather his helicopter could not land. He further added that the state TMC government under the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has suppressed the Patriot Garkha’s issue by filing a lot of false cases during democratic agitations in the hill. He assured the people of Darjeeling Hills that on 5th May 2026, BJP is going to form a government and all the politically motivated cases on Gorkha leaders shall be withdrawn.
Regretting his non-presence due to bad weather conditions he assured the people that he is coming to Siliguri and schedule to address a massive public rally at Sukana, the foothill of Darjeeling. He further added that for a permanent political solution of Darjeeling Hills an interlocutor has been already appointed.
