In West Bengal, the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) led by Anit Thapa, which is currently the ruling party of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), has announced the names of its candidates for the upcoming state Assembly polls in all three Darjeeling Hills constituencies.

Sitting MLA Ruden Sada Lepcha will contest from his Kalimpong seat again. Bijay Kumar Rai will fight from the Darjeeling constituency and Amar Lama from the Kurseong seat. While the party remains a hill ally of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), it has chosen to go solo in these specific constituencies. Election on these seats will be held in first phase on 23rd of April.
