As a run-up to the celebration of International Yoga Day 2025 on 21st June, Ladakh Union Territory Administration has announced its decision to celebrate a week-long Yoga festival titled Ladakh’s biggest International Festival of Yoga and Meditation from June 15 to 21 at multiple locations of the region.
Seven picturesque and serene locations of Ladakh, including Pangong Lake, Shanti Stupa, Bank of Indus River at Sindhu Ghat and Nubra Valley, have been chosen for the week-long Yoga sessions.
These sessions will culminate with the celebration of International Yoga Day at the Astro Turf Stadium, which is popularly known as the highest football Stadium of the Country with an ambitious plan of seeing large number of participants both from civil and defence personnel.
Union Territory Administration in collaboration with Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, Ladakh have already started preparation for this mega event of wellness program including two rounds of meetings between officials of the Union Territory Administration and Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre for selection of locations and other logistics arrangements.
The festival is being held on the three lines of signature events such as Harit Yoga, Samavesh Yoga and Yoga Unplugged and the themes have been chosen from the themes given by the Ayush Ministry.
A seminar on the theme of Unplugged Yoga is also planned in collaboration with the University of Ladakh.
