The India Meteorological Department, IMD, has forecast dense to very dense fog over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan tomorrow. Dense fog conditions will prevail over Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Madhya Pradesh. Similar conditions will exist over Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, West Rajasthan and North-eastern states.
The Met Department has also predicted cold wave conditions over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Vidarbha. Squally weather conditions are expected along and off the Sri Lanka coast, over many parts of the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, and many parts of the southeast Bay of Bengal.
Meanwhile, dense fog conditions have disrupted train services in several parts of the country, affecting the movement of several trains. According to Indian Railways, more than 18 Delhi-bound trains are running late due to low visibility conditions. Passengers have been advised to check the latest status of their trains before reaching the station to avoid inconvenience and delays.
