Wall Street’s three main indexes scored record high closes on Tuesday. The S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Dow Jones Industrial Average each ended at fresh all-time highs, amid expectations that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates to shore up economic growth.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose over 0.4 per cent to end at 45 thousand 711.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index gained almost 0.4 per cent to settle at 21 thousand 879, its second consecutive record high close.
The S&P 500 climbed nearly 0.3 per cent to end the session at 6 thousand 513 points, surpassing its record last Thursday.
