The Vice President, C. P. Radhakrishnan, will arrive in Agartala on the afternoon of March 7 on a two-day visit to the State. He will be accorded a warm reception at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport.
During his stay in Agartala, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu will host a dinner in his honour at the Lok Bhavan. The Vice President will stay overnight at the Lok Bhavan on Saturday.
On the morning of March 8, he will pay a floral tribute to brave martyrs at the Albert Ekka War Memorial. The Vice President will then travel to Udaipur to offer prayers at the revered Tripura Sundari Temple.
Later, he will attend the 14th Convocation Ceremony of Tripura University in Agartala. In the afternoon, he will visit the Hapania International Fairground in Agartala, where he will inspect stalls set up by Self-Help Groups (SHGs). He is also scheduled to interact with women members of SHGs and Lakhpati Didis during the visit.
Subsequently, the Vice President will depart for New Delhi by a special flight later in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, in view of the Vice President’s visit, a preparatory meeting was held in Agartala yesterday under the chairmanship of West Tripura District Magistrate Dr Vishal Kumar. Senior officials from the Airport Authority, CISF, State Police, and various departments of the State Government were present at the meeting.
