Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan today said that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 can only be realised through empowered and well-educated youth. He was addressing the 57th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) for the year 2024-25 in New Delhi. Calling students the key drivers of national progress, the Vice President said that the rise of the country is closely linked to better education and the capabilities of its youth. He lauded IIMC for its unwavering commitment to preparing aspiring journalists and media professionals. Highlighting the power of journalism, he said that the ability to write and present facts truthfully has the strength to influence the direction of the nation. He further emphasised that young media professionals have a vital responsibility in distinguishing truth from falsehood and presenting it before the country with integrity.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw said that students play a key role in the development of a nation. The Minister noted the growing role of technology in education, particularly advancements in Artificial Intelligence, and highlighted the need for students to adapt to emerging technological changes.
On the occasion, the Vice President laid the foundation stone for a new Academic Block and Hostel Block at the IIMC campus.
