Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan has said that providing quality education is the best way to make people self-reliant and empowered. He was inaugurating the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of St. Berchmans College, Changanassery, in Kerala. Addressing the gathering, the Vice President noted that while India once depended largely on technologies developed elsewhere, the country is now steadily advancing in creating its own technological innovations.
