Vice President CP Radhakrishnan today attended the Lakhpati Didi conference held in Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. Addressing the gathering, the Vice President said, this conference of Lakhpati Didis stands as a testimony to women’s self-reliance, empowerment and excellence. He added that the Lakhpati Didi initiative is a symbol of strength and determination of women in the country, who are transforming challenges into opportunities. Mr. Radhakrishnan said that the term Lakhpati Didi not only reflects income levels but also represents women’s freedom, dignity and self-confidence.
Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh were present on the occasion. During his visit to Rajnandgaon, the Vice President also inaugurated the Udayachal Multispeciality Eye-Care Institute, constructed at a cost of five crore rupees. Later this evening, the Vice President will attend the valedictory function of the state’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.
