Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar today emphasized that India always believes in global peace, global fraternity, and global welfare. He made these remarks while interacting with the Kautilya Fellows from the India Foundation in New Delhi. Mr Dhankar highlighted that Kautilya’s thought process is a treatise in governance, virtually encyclopedic for every facet of governance including statecraft, security, role of the king and of those elected. The Vice President said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has exemplified Kautilya’s philosophy in action. He laid great emphasis on individuals contributing for national welfare. Mr Dhankar noted that a nation is defined by decorum and discipline that is individualistic in nature. Reflecting on the foundational principles of power and governance, Mr Dhankar said, Power is defined by limitations and democracy is nurtured with mindfulness of the limitations of power.
