Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar today underlined that India has been historically known for discourse, dialogue, debate and deliberation. He highlighted that meaningful discussion and serious deliberations will take the country to greater heights. Presiding over the inaugural programme for the eighth batch of participants of the Rajya Sabha Internship Programme (RSIP) in New Delhi, Mr Dhankar appealed to political parties to engage in constructive politicking.
He said that every political party has commitment towards national development and therefore it is the duty of the youth to ensure this mindset. Mr Dhankar emphasised that a thriving democracy cannot afford an atmosphere of constant acrimony.
He underscored that politics is not confrontation and it can never be unidirectional highlighting that there will be different political thought processes but politics means achieving the same objective but in different ways. He further urged everyone in the country to bring down the political temperature.
