VP C.P. Radhakrishnan underscores the commitment to reach the marginalized through effective governance

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has said that the true purpose of governance is to empower people and ensure that no one is left behind. Addressing the 72nd Founders’ Day of the Indian Institute of Public Administration and delivering the 5th Dr Rajendra Prasad Annual Memorial Lecture on AI for Good Governance in New Delhi, Mr Radhakrishnan emphasized that no section of society and no region of the country should be excluded from development. He noted that Artificial Intelligence is a powerful technological tool and an enabler in building a Viksit Bharat that is inclusive, efficient, and future-ready.

The Vice President also highlighted the importance of equipping the entire society to effectively face future challenges. He said that in a Viksit Bharat, Artificial Intelligence will act as a bridge between policy and the people and improve public service delivery. Mr Radhakrishnan said that Artificial Intelligence is redefining governance by giving government the ability to better understand, respond and serve citizens than ever before. Highlighting India’s progress in the field, he noted India’s national AI-powered language platform, BHASHINI, as a significant step towards inclusive governance and linguistic empowerment.

Mr Radhakrishnan also mentioned that the country ranks among the top nations globally, including a high position in global AI vibrancy rankings. He highlighted key government initiatives such as the India AI Mission and the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, which aim to strengthen the country’s technological ecosystem. The Vice President stated that Artificial Intelligence is not just a technological revolution but a human revolution. He called upon all stakeholders to harness AI as a force for good governance and to build a society that is just, inclusive, and compassionate.
