VIPs express condolences on sculptor Ram Sutar’s death

 
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief over the death of Padma Bhushan recipient and eminent sculptor Ram Sutar.
 
In a social media post, the President said that the exceptional contributions of the sculptor have enriched India’s artistic and cultural heritage.
 
President Murmu added that the monumental works of Sutar, including the Statue of Unity, stand as great symbols of India’s enduring legacy. Sharing condolences to the family members and admirers of the sculptor, Ms Murmu noted that his art will continue to inspire generations of artists.
 
Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan said that the extraordinary contributions of the legendary sculptor to Indian art, including the iconic Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue and countless monumental works honouring great leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, have left an indelible mark on our nation’s cultural heritage.
 
Mr Radhakrishnan said that the sculptor lived a life of immense creativity and dedication, inspiring generations with his mastery and vision. He added that his sculptures stand as timeless tributes to India’s spirit, cultural heritage and history.
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was a remarkable sculptor whose mastery gave India some of its most iconic landmarks, including the Statue of Unity in Kevadia.
 
Mr Modi said that Sutar’s works will always be admired as powerful expressions of India’s history, culture and collective spirit. The Prime Minister added that the works of Ram Vanji Sutar will continue to inspire artists and citizens alike.
