Several protesters and one police officer have been killed today in a violent clash between the supporters of Tehreek-e-Labbaik and police in Lahore, Pakistan during an anti-Israel march. The violent clashes took place at Muridke when supporters of Tehreek-e-Labbaik were marching towards the US embassy situated in Islamabad in support of Gaza and Palestine.
Punjab Police Chief Usman Anwar said the demonstrators opened fire, killing an officer and wounding others. On the other hand, TLP has said that many of its supporters also were killed or wounded during the violent clashes. Among those injured is TLP chief Saad Rizvi, who reportedly sustained several bullet wounds.
