Vice President inaugurates Rotary Tejas–Wings of Change in New Delhi

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan inaugurated the Rotary Tejas-Wings of Change in New Delhi today. In a social media post, the Vice-President lauded the Rotary’s contributions towards promoting literacy, ensuring clean water, conserving environment, and nurturing peace. Mr. Radhakrishnan highlighted that Rotary’s philosophy of Service above Self resonates deeply with Indian ethos of Seva Parmo Dharma of giving without seeking return.

 

He further noted that Rotary’s impactful initiatives, several of which are backed by Corporate Social Responsibility funds, are ensuring development towards a healthier, stronger nation, ensuring development is a shared responsibility, powered by collaboration and community spirit.

 

Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan today said that sustained efforts of citizens, community groups, and corporate partners help to build the moral and social capital of the nation. The Vice-President made this remark while addressing the Rotary Tejas – Wings of Change event in New Delhi. Mr Radhakrishnan said that development is a collective responsibility. He emphasized the ability of the Rotary to unite diverse individuals with a common purpose to create a meaningful change. He said that the Rotary has significantly contributed to public health, literacy, clean water access, environmental conservation, and peace-building. Highlighting their efforts, Mr. Radhakrishnan said that the collective goodwill and selfless service of the Rotary deeply resonates with the country’s ethos of Seva Parmo Dharmah. 
 
 
Mr Radhakrishnan said that Tejas embodies the light of knowledge and the warmth of compassion, qualities essential for driving transformation and nation-building in the modern era. He also highlighted the role of Rotary in eradicating polio on a global scale, with the organization investing over 2 billion dollars into its flagship Global Polio Eradication Program. Mr Radhakrishnan urged all Rotarians to continue their role as torchbearers of progress and innovation, encouraging them to embrace new ideas to advance skill development, environmental sustainability, digital literacy, and healthcare accessibility across the country.
