Vice President C P Radhakrishnan today said that the corporate social responsibility (CSR) is no longer peripheral to business strategy but is central to national progress. The Vice President made these remarks while addressing the National CSR Summit 2026 organised in New Delhi. He said that the CSR can play a transformative role in strengthening the public education system, primary healthcare and alignment of skill development with industries in correlation with requirements of the society.
The Vice President said that over the past decade, India has witnessed structural reforms, rapid infrastructure expansion, digital connectivity and greater financial inclusion, lifting crores of people out of poverty. Mr Radhakrishnan also noted that the Indian economy has grown steadily from an average economy to becoming the 4th largest economy globally.
