Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan today said that India is moving towards becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047, where every citizen, including the poor, should have access to the best healthcare facilities.

Addressing a gathering at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram, the Vice President said that wealth generation is essential for national progress, and its benefits must reach people in remote areas.

The Vice President offered support of the Government for the research activities of the institute, describing Sree Chitra as an inspiration for government institutions across the country.

Mr Radhakrishnan also inaugurated an exhibition organised by the institute, showcasing its landmark achievements in biomedical research and healthcare innovation. The Vice President’s two-day visit to Kerala will conclude today.
