Vice President C P Radhakrishnan pays homage to lives lost in tragic Coimbatore serial bomb blasts

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan today paid homage to the lives lost in the tragic Coimbatore serial bomb blasts of 14 February 1998.

In a social media post, he called the incident a painful chapter in India’s history that left deep scars on countless families.

Mr Radhakrishnan said that he had a narrow escape in one of those blasts, adding that those dreadful moments, of struggling to save the injured and rushing the critically injured to hospitals, remain the most painful periods of his life.

The Vice President further expressed solidarity with the families who suffered loss in the incident. He also urged the citizens to reaffirm the collective resolve to stand united against terrorism and to uphold peace, harmony, and national integrity.

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has paid tribute to the jawans who laid down their lives in Pulwama terror attack of 2019.

In his message, Dr Jaishankar said their sacrifice strengthens the resolve to pursue zero tolerance against cross-border terrorism.
