Vice President C P Radhakrishnan emphasises importance of meditation for holistic well-being at global conference

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan today emphasised the importance of peace of mind and self-introspection, stating that meditation is a key instrument for holistic well-being. Addressing the Global Conference of Meditation Leaders in New Delhi, the Vice President said that meditation helps in reducing stress, improves focus and enhances emotional resilience, while promoting a calm and composed approach to life.
 
Mr Radhakrishnan said that meditation plays a vital role in enhancing observing capacity and helps build patience and inner peace. He added that it encourages a positive approach and termed peace as the greatest benefit of meditation. He noted that meditation transforms reactions into thoughtful responses and brings clarity in place of confusion. Highlighting the broader perspective, the Vice President said that building a better world begins with cultivating a better and balanced mind. He added that the coordination of mind and heart is essential for achieving meaningful and strengthened outcomes.
 
Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Mr Radhakrishnan said that the country’s progress towards becoming one of the world’s leading economies is linked to focused and disciplined efforts, which are strengthened through a balanced mind, body and soul.
 
The Vice President also underlined the importance of such initiatives in addressing social challenges, including substance abuse. He said that awareness campaigns and meditation programmes can play a role in discouraging narcotics use and promoting a healthier society. He expressed confidence that the conference will send a positive message globally on the need for peaceful coexistence.
